Today was my final iPhone3G swap; I think it's #13 at this point. It's getting tough for me, I think my record is showing all the previous swaps. The assistant manager was trying to reject the swap, until I showed him the pressure cracks and stated I bought AppleCare. Lucky me, I only had two weeks left with the policy.

The new owner tomorrow is getting a brand new unit, with everything brand new. Look at all the shrink warp, packaging & etc. Super lucky dude and I'm only charging him $250.00
Gonna be a very dramatic day when I hand over that box .... :( |

I've read about this and witnessed myself today.
Fido's IP4s are losing data connections. I've tried resetting all network settings, which normally works ... But that's a no go. Rebooting is the only way to get data back. This unit I tested today had the carrier update 7.2. |
My buddy @ Roger's confirmed it's a software bug from the Carrier update. Only happens to the Fido IP4s |

Apple releases iOS 4.0.2, plugs jailbreakme.com PDF exploit

Apple has just released an update to iOS, labeled iOS 4.0.2. The update, amongst other things, plugs the PDF security hole most_notably_used by the website jailbreakme.com. The update is available for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4, iPod Touch 2G and 3G, as well as the iPad. If you have a jailbroken device, or think you might want to jailbreak your device at some point, we would recommend against applying this update. Everyone else, have at it!
(I've jailbroken a 3.1.3 with this ver of Spirit, so the exploit has always been there.)
CDMA iPhone 4 Codenamed N92 At 'Engineering Verification Test' Stage

We have heard several rumors lately about the CDMA-based iPhone coming to Verizon.
John Gruber of Daring Fireball who has a good track record with Apple rumors has revealed some interesting details about the CDMA-based iPhone, which is codenamed N92.
According to him, Apple is working on a CDMA-based iPhone, which could be released in January 2011.
Daring Fireball writes:
But I do know that engineering-wise, the wheels are turning on N92, the CDMA variant of the iPhone 4. It’s certainly not in production yet, and hasn’t reached DVT status (device verification test — like Gray Powell’s infamous stolen unit), but it is, a few little birdies claim, at EVT (engineering verification test). That’s one step below DVT, which is one step below production. So it’s right about where you’d think it would be if it were scheduled to go on sale in January. The CDMA iPhone is no longer a cold storage, keep-it-alive-just-in-case-we-need-it project.
But he is not sure if the CDMA-based iPhone is meant only for Verizon or might be available on Sprint or meant for the South American or Asian markets.
He believes that Verizon is very likely for the following reason:
The key bit: “At the critical juncture […], when they should have gone for market share, they went for profits.” I think this encapsulates Jobs’s philosophy since taking over Apple in 1997. Take the high end of the market first, establish a brand and presence, then steadily start to expand.
If they’re at that juncture with the iPhone now, expansion means CDMA. And in the U.S., it means Verizon.
Will you jump ship if iPhone is available on Verizon or Sprint’s network? Let us know in the comments. |

Anyone know of a carrier toggle?
I know this has to exist. I go to Tijuana Mexico a lot and when I cross into TJ i always get stuck with the over powering telcel reception.
Thing is, ATT is still strong in that area. But for some reason or another it automatically switches to telcel. I sometimes toggle airplane mode and get lucky and get ATT. Other times I get stuck with telcel.
Anyone know of something to lock out telcel and stick with teh carrier I want to stick with?
I know I am not the only one with this issue... |

There's gotta be a setting somewhere that lets you choose to automatically choose providers or manually set one. Every single phone I've ever had has this capability, I'm sure the iPhone4 does as well. |

I hope so.
I already ran through the phone in the past, but I never found anything.
I wish it was that easy, but I doubt it is :( |

Settings> Carrier> Whatever you want, don't allow automatic.
"Automatic" will lock on the strongest carrier tower within the area you are travelling. Be safe, don't allow Data Roaming also.
I kept mine on Rogers @ all time, I forgot about this setting LMAO ... I've travelled to the Buffalo twice and most recently figured out what I needed to do if I wanted to switch over to AT&T. |

Well there's only one Carrier in the states for now, guess they really dont need this toggle yet. Its always been there since 2.0 |

Ya true.
I am finally messing with it right now.
Its kinda slow to pick up the carriers, it shows ATT 3G and ATT (which is edge after messing with it).
I have it constantly locked in with ATT 3G now. When I am down there will all the carriers show up under that tab?
It will show both ATT and both Telcels right? |
