Apple Blocks iPhone 4 Unlock Via Gevey SIM
Apple has blocked the ability to unlock the iPhone 4 using the Gevey SIM in iOS 5.0b2, according to MuscleNerd.
it's surprising Apple closed Gevey interposer hole in b2 rather than waiting until final (maybe they were under pressure)
Gevey's SIM Interposer was able to unlock the iPhone 4 by force activating the baseband using the emergency dialer. MuscleNerd notes that its unlikely Gevey will try to battle Apple while iOS 5 is in the beta period.
(I was just about to buy one of these for fun too, indeed the baseband in iOS5B2 is 04.11.16)

Beta 2, SMS relaunched seems to be a bit slow.
EDIT: testing a solution to solve this, so far so good.
EDIT2: Checkmate! It works and now iOS5B2 runs perfectly smooth as 4.2.1, ran both side by side to confirm it.

Okay so...
I have now came to the conclusion that Straight Talk knows when I am tethering. I was skeptical at first, but now that I don't tether they don't call me telling me that I have used to much data. Funny part is that I am using my phone more wasting even more data lol
And man oh man how much I want he new update! Sucks I need to wait until iys officially released and stable so I can run it with my bootleg carrier haha
