My Black Friday wish came true, Metal Gear Solid Touch is $0.99!

Anyone catch anything else, pls post it up!
(I'll post the unofficial Black Friday app sale list once someone blogs it)
Edit:
Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays, and has been all my life. What's there not to love about an entire day revolving around eating massive amounts of turkey, stuffing, and all the other fixings? Sure, I could do without needing to feign interest in football, but thankfully tryptophan overload usually allows me to sleep through all of that. If you're looking for something to do this year while you do your best to either pretend to be interested in football or anxiously wait for the food to be done, there are a ton of sales on the App Store to consider.
The basis of this post comes from SirAwesome's awesome thread in our new price drops, freebies, and deals forum. He put together an extremely exhaustive listing of everything that's on sale, and the thread is good to stop by just to make sure you're not missing anything that might have since gone on sale since the writing of this post.
First off, here are some of what we consider must-have games that are on sale. We've positively reviewed all of these, and really recommend picking them up if you're going to grab anything from this price drop extravaganza-
Need for Speed Shift, $0.99 This is an absolutely fantastic arcade style racer that actually manages to capture almost everything that made the console version of the game fun. A must-have at 99¢.
ChuChu Rocket!, $0.99 A classic Dreamcast puzzle game that I paid full console game price for that I don't regret one bit. A recent updated added a ton more content, making this a no-brainer for a buck.
Ravensword: The Fallen King, $2.99 This is the cheapest that this open-world RPG has ever been. It hasn't exactly aged well compared to more recent 3D games (especially looking forward to Aralon) but it's still a ton of fun and probably your best bang for the buck with hours upon hours of gameplay.
Defender Chronicles - Legend of The Desert King, $2.99 A cool twist on tower defense that has been updated a ton with all kinds of new content since its initial release. If you like tower defense and earning experience points, this is the game for you.
Harbor Master, $0.99 Harbor Master has been selling for $1.99 for quite a while now, if you missed the initial 99¢ launch price of this fun little content-packed line drawing game, here's your chance to snag it again.
Jet Car Stunts, $0.99 Half racing game, half puzzle platformer. Pilot your jet car through a series of ridiculous jumps, twists, turns, and other obstacles. Retina Display graphics looks awesome, and the game runs fantastic on every device I've ever played it on.
Chopper 2, $2.99 This awesome sequel is loaded with all kinds of cool options, such as being able to control the game running on your iPad with your iPhone. Chopper had a huge fan following, and Chopper 2 doesn't disappoint.
Game Dev Story, $3.99 If you're looking for a game that will quite literally suck up your entire day (and battery in the process) look no further than Game Dev Story. Create your own game company, and even release your own game console eventually. It's awesome.
And here's everything else we consider noteworthy that's on sale-

Ultrasn0w For iOS 4.2.1 To Unlock iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G To Be Released On Sunday
We have some good news for folks who want to unlock their iPhone.
MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team has just confirmed that the eagerly awaited unlock for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G_for iOS 4.2.1 will be released on Sunday.
MuscleNerd announced the good news via the following tweet:
Good progress today…everything is on track for updated ultrasn0w by Sunday/Funday at the latest (longer for iPhone4!)
iPhone Dev team had mentioned earlier that the unlocking solution for iPhone 4 users will need more effort and were not in a position to provide any further information.
The updated version of Ultrasn0w will unlock baseband 05.14.02 that was shipped with iOS 4.1 or lower.
However, it is not clear if the updated Ultrasn0w will unlock baseband 05.15.04 that was shipped with iOS 4.2.1. So users who want to unlock their iPhone should avoid upgrading to iOS 4.2.1 for now. iPhone Dev Team had warned users immediately after iOS 4.2.1 was released:
As always, ultrasn0w unlockers please stay far far away from this official firmware (and all official firmware). Wait for the ability to create custom 4.2.1. IPSWs that don’t update your baseband!
iPhone Dev Team has already released a new version of Redsn0w to jailbreak iOS 4.2.1 for iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch 4G,iPod Touch 3G, iPad and Apple TV 2G.
As always, we’ll let you know as soon as the updated Ultrasn0w is released so stay tuned here at iPhone Hacks or follow us on Twitter or subscribe to our RSS feed.

K I haven't jailbroken in a long time, but I'm trying to jailbreak my iPhone 3G just so I can use the WiFi. It was wiped back to factory settings, so unless I jailbreak it, it requires me to insert a SIM to activate it.
Anyway, I downloaded the 4.2.1 firmware, restored it, and it's good. I downloaded the new redsn0w build, it accepted this firmware, and started to go through the process. I got all the way down to updating ramdisk but then redsn0w crashes. I tried this like 5 times already, putting the program into windows xp compatiblity mode, running as administrator, blah blah, but it crashes at the same spot everytime.
Does anyone know how to run this without it crashing? I think I remember someone saying something about how to run it months and months ago, but I forget. I'm running Windows Vista with an administrator login and UAC turned off. |

Ultrasn0w For iPhone 3GS, iPhone 3G Will Unlock All Basebands, Including iOS 4.2.1 Baseband 05.15.04
We had reported yesterday that iPhone Dev Team plans to release the eagerly awaited unlock for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G for iOS 4.2.1 on Sunday.
However, it is not clear if the updated version of Ultrasn0w will unlock baseband 05.15.04 that was shipped with iOS 4.2.1.
But we have some good news for users who have accidentally updated their iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G with iOS 4.2.1 and updated the baseband to 05.15.04.
MuscleNerd has just confirmed that the updated Ultrasn0w will also unlock baseband 05.15.04.
ssstephD: @MuscleNerd will the new ultrasn0w unlock be able to unl0ck baseband 5.15.04? made the big mistake of upgrading it =/ !
MuscleNerd: @ssstephD it covers 05.15.04 too -- but yeah, really need to stay vigilant about not updating :(
So users who have accidentally updated their iPhone 3GS or iPhone 3G to iOS 4.2.1 (not using the official iPhone carrier SIM) should be relieved as they will soon be able to use their iPhone.
The updated Ultrasn0w should also work on iOS 4.1 or earlier firmwares.
iPhone Dev team had mentioned earlier that the unlocking solution for iPhone 4 users will need more effort and were not in a position to provide any further information.
As always, we’ll let you know as soon as the updated Ultrasn0w is released so stay tuned here at iPhone Hacks or follow us on Twitter or subscribe to our RSS feed. |

'Angry Birds' Christmas Edition Update Hitting Soon For 'Halloween' Owners

Rovio Mobile is indeed developing a Christmas edition of Angry Birds [$.99, Lite], the developer confirmed earlier this week. The first images and details are available at Finnish site Finnish Ylex [Translated], which is presenting something of a problem for us non-Finnish people, but there are a few interesting details we've been able to glean thanks to Google Translate and Rovio Mobile's Twitter feed.
Angry Birds Christmas won't be a full App release like Angry Birds Halloween [$.99] was. It will, instead, be offered as a free update to the Halloween version of the game, Rovio's sole seasonal iteration of the series. Think of this as you would a Doodle Jump update. You turn on the title post-update and then enjoy a re-skinning of pre-existing assets for the prize of zero bones. It's a deal, right?
Rovio is saying that the update, which will include Game Center support (!), has been submitted to Apple for certification. We'll keep our eyes on the storefront and will let you know, obviously, when it hits.
And before you go, know that there's a possibility we might see some new birds in the future, too. On its Twitter feed, Rovio's social media dude said, "there are several new birds on the drawing board…" We're uncertain if Rovio was speaking to this update to the game or Angry Birds proper. Either way, around three trillion pigs have felt the righteous wrath of the current line-up. I, for one, wouldn't mind piling on the pain with a few more new birds. To six trillion and beyond, I say!
(Glad they didn't charge us again for the Xmas Edition, money is not the issue here ... it's the principle. Since they weren't part of the EA deal, I bought the Halloween ver to show my support) |
