I'll be honest - if the BB OS6 UI is as smooth as it's being portrayed, this could be a gamechanger for RIM. If they solve their "app store" issues at the same time then they're back in it 100%.

Game changer.... I doubt it. The reviews on the OS 6 and the Torch are not good....
"The software is typical RIM — uninspired, old, clunky sometimes, and cluttered. Even with the new UI elements in OS 6, we experienced choppiness in the web browser, hangs navigating between screens, and a general feeling of well… claustrophobia on occasion. The simplified BlackBerry now sort of feels like too much has been added without thinking of the ramifications."
However I do hope blackberry can do well with this... Rim begina canadian company i want them to do well wether or not im an iPhone user. and competition is good and healthy.
Honestly Blackberry should focus on doing what tehy do best instead of trying to compete with iPhone in every aspect. They both hve there strong and weak points. so instead of
honestly Jason, if your happy with your blackberry.... whats the advantage of switching ? a pretty new phone ... and some you arnt going to use. iPhone4 is great but really fromt he sounds of it your jsut looking for an excuse lol. so do or dont lol .. does it matter ? :clown: :clown: :D :D

The Sept 30 cutoff for the bumper is pretty clear indication of a version 2 coming out.

Crazy next-gen iPod, iPad, and iPhone rumors
Could Apple be getting ready to release a 7¡å iPad nano and re-designed iPhone 5 as early as January? Could the iPod shuffle or nano with a 1.7¡å screen be around the corner in September? Are bumpers going all-silicone?
Our gut says crazy talk, but iLounge has a pretty good track record on leaks so take these for what they¡¯re worth, even if it¡¯s with an ocean-sized grain of salt.
Here are some details:
1.New iPods. Apple apparently has three new iPods ready to go as early as this month, or as late as September. One is the new iPod nano, one is the new iPod touch, and the third one is a question mark, but may be a small (1.7¡±) touchscreen replacement for the iPod shuffle.
2.New iPad. A seven-inch-screened version of the iPad is substantially finished and will be ready for announcement either later this year or early in 2011.
3.New iPhone. According to our source¡ªand we have to say that we find this part hard to believe¡ªApple is pushing up the release date of the fifth-generation iPhone to early 2011 (as soon as January) because of the antenna issues with the iPhone 4.
4.iPhone 4 Bumpers, Generations 0 and 2. To reduce the cost of the current iPhone 4 Case Program, the company is currently working on a less expensive all-silicone version of the Bumper to give away after September.
Would Apple fragment the iPad market so quickly by introducing a smaller device? They haven¡¯t done that with iPhone or iPod touch going on 4 years now. Could a January iPhone be an iPhone 4 variant for Verizon instead?

Apple: PDF security hole fix is already ready to go
JailbreakMe brought root to the iPhone 4-wielding masses, but also unearthed a nasty exploit in a PDF font. Thankfully for the rooted and those who never intended to root, Cupertino claims it has already patched the hole. "We're aware of the reported issue, we have already developed a fix and it will be available to customers in an upcoming software update," an Apple spokeswoman told CNET. We're not sure exactly when it will arrive, but we'd lay odds on soon -- in the meantime, don't open any PDFs you don't trust, don't do anything illegal or immoral, and hit up Comex's hack ASAP if your heart's still set on that shiny new unlock.

can u elaborate on this post a little more? It's kind of confusing. Are u saying Rogers has a waiting list and it's going to be a few months before the next ip4 shipment?

Wow, another 1-2 months. Apple could be doing this on purpose
A. the free bumper program expires in September and they want to limit how many of them they want to give out.
B. Same as above but they are working on fixing the signal issue and think they will be done in the 1-2 month time frame.
I have been hearing some reports that small shipments might be here this week(end) but no one really knows.
I still dont understand why rogers/fido dont let people pre-order and ship them when they arrive. It will save us tons of time and relieve some of the constant iPhone questions the retail stores must be getting.
This has to be one of the worst launches ever...No pre-orders, low stock counts, no time frame for the next shipment.

You guys with you're conspiracy theories lol Apple already confirmed they're aren't pulling the "shortage" format to build more hype. They are making as many as they can and pushing them out for sale. They wouldnt lie about that, if they got caught .... another class action law suit. Plus, they want to blanket the world with IP4s
We have 5 carriers that offer the IP4, I predicted this was gonna cause a massive shortage regardless how impressive the hardware is gonna be a many months ago.
Apple will always direct massive inventory to the Apple Store before any other carriers. That statement was made during the sold out time frame of the 3GS.
Not possible to pre-order when there's massive shortage in Canada and WorldWide. No more shipping for HUP anymore, due to scams and etc they had last year. Remember the dude getting 8 3GS 32GB for free?
Future launches, keep your eyes on the US Apple Stores ... if the demands are high and line ups are massive, you know what to do on launch date.

Good points. Just saying it would have made things easier. I found a post at Red Flag Deals where people report line ups and if there are phones in stock http://forums.redflagdeals.com/toro...yone-918350/46/
howardforums has something else similar for 'in stock/out of stock' statuses
