Admitedly, I really don't like the iPhone's flexibility directly out of the box. While it isn't a problem for someone that knows how to get into the nitty-gritty of it to make changes / alter to suit their tastes, I understand the reasoning behind it and the arguments in favour of doing so.
What a lot of end-users take for granted is the Uniform Customer Experience - It's the concept that your iPhone should operate like my iPhone, which in turn operates like my grandmother's iPhone and so on and so forth. While that's not very exciting to those that want to "stand out from the crowd", the overwhelming majority of iPhone units are still completely legit and not Jailbroken which demonstrates that end-users are still pretty pleased with the experience that the iPhone offers, regardless of its flaws.
This gives App developers a better expectation of the resources available to them (without having to worry about, say, something chewing up resources on the back end for example), OS developers a better understanding of what exactly is going on under the hood, the list goes on.
It's all a tradeoff. |

So far I've not had any issues with my iPhone, but I do miss the flexiblility of the Windows Mobile operating system. |
Blame Apple.... go to Cydia as there's plenty of flexiblizers there that goes beyond what apple will allow. Toggles for anything. |

What you see here is a live pic of some random girl @ the mall. Her 1st gen iPhone just fell and the screen cracked. It only dropped lightly too, wasn't hard at all. (She's rubbing the cacks as you can see)

She had 4 cracks, all of them were pointing to the home button and I assume that's the end were the impact hit.
Look carefully of the top right hand area, you will see one of the cracks overlapping the black top area on the unit.
Learning lesson to everyone, dont be a retard & put a case on it.
(Thank you to whoever you are ... I was about to go case-less, but your accident saved me $700.00) |

GoogleMap's Traffic now UPDATED for the iPhone and BlackBerry Bold

What you see here is a live traffic update, Birchmount and McNicole just had a massive accident with 3 cars in the middle of the intersection. I just passed by it and loaded this up.
Traffic updates are collections of cellphones within those areas |

Anytime an app in Cyida ask you to pay and you wish not to pay, there are "ways" to avoid it. But, if you feel the apps is worth paying, you should show your support no matter what.
I follow this code always & will continue.
You guys are welcome, this ain't nothing ... my Treo days are even more hardcore! |

| So far I haven't downloaded any illegal apps at all... There are a few I paid for because, they're only for a dollar or few, so it's not worth my time researching where to get it for free. if I can dowload a useful app or game for only a buck or two, it's a no brainer. |
