Ok cool.
90% of fw updates have been in our favor, but only once I've remembered Apple updated to mainly stop jailbreakers. 3.1.2 to 3.1.3 was no major diff at all, only the baseband and jb stuff got messed around.
How you connecting your iPhone to the deck? |

When I tried 4.0... I noticed the same. It says my radio is not compatible and refuses to charge through the usb when connected. I went back to 3.1.3 and all is better.
Also... I had data problems with FIDO, then same again all is back to normal with 3.1.3 |

Funniest thing...
Mine connected for a while on 4.0 but yesterday, it decided it doesn't like my Pioneer anymore and doesn't see it at all...
All the more reason to go back to 3.1.2??? |

^^^^Homeboy is on 3G, don't confuse him with the 3GS method.
There's a carrier update on iOS4.0, it's a must.
Rogers 7.1
Once you're all done updating, unplug and plug the sync cord .... it will ask you to update carrier settings within itunes.
Do the speed up method for iOS4, its just a tad slower then 3.0 and all the new opitions are great for iOS4.
Sucks everyone's car stereo is not working, I just plug my AUX cord all this time and avoid using the iPod control methods. Due to some conflicts i've seen in the past ... |

| I can use the Aux cable no problem but I like to skip tracks with the deck controls. I was connecting the iPhone with a regular USB cable, everything worked fine with 3.1.2/3.1.3 but now it shows Accessory Connected and then vibrates, then shows the regular iPod screen then the Accessory Connected screen again, just does that in a loop. |

That means there's not enough voltage going to the iPhone. Having the iPod control on your deck is very nice. Next update should fix this problem ... |

OK so I'm doing it now...
Went to 3.1.2 since 3.1.3 always seemed slow as well...
Question is, how do I get my stuff back in there?
Simple restore from backup?? |

Yes.
As long as you sync'd the phone to the PC before. |
