Testing out a custom IPSW from Dev Team's pwnagetool, my baseband is already updated to 02.10.04 so this is not gonna downgrade it.
The only baseband that was downgradable was the first batch of 3G's in 2008, made in the month of July.
EDIT: Just learned the new pwnagetool has it's own DFU mode to load SHAtter, Limerain and etc. Custom IPSWs made from this new pwnagetool won't work w/ windows. |

There's a difference in the level of question that is asked here and asking how to send an email...

RIM will lose the Enterprise to Apple

Apple seems to have a good — a really good — chance to seize enterprise sales from RIM’s BlackBerry devices.
Apple boss Steve Jobs alluded to this earlier this week, when he said, “We’ve now passed RIM (Research in Motion) and I don’t see them catching up with us in the foreseeable future.”
Now it seems industry wisdom is moving to the Jobsin position. “We agree with his (Jobs) views,” analyst Michael Walkley of Canacord Genuity told the National Post daily.
The Canadian analyst (RIM is based in Canada) warned that in his view, Apple’s iOS will continue to gather smartphone and tablet market share. The analyst also compared the 10,000 apps available for BlackBerry with the 300,000 apps available at Apple’s App Store. He also noted that the highly fragmented Android marketplace does not match Apple’s offering in quantity.
The real threat for RIM is its lack of profile in consumer markets.
“Although RIM is attempting to make gains in this area as highlighted by the recent acquisition of California-based Cellmania, we believe the gap between RIM and the two leading competitors (Apple and Google) in the consumer market is increasing every quarter,” said Sameet Kanade, a financial analyst with Northern Securities.
And in the enterprise? “We believe the potential adoption of the iPhone by key RIM enterprise users may have a domino effect, creating further market disruption for RIM,” he said.

Can you just tell us what the question was??
My fav...
| quote: | 9. Fruit Frets
"I have ate two whole tangerines in about two hours what will happen to me?"
That all depends on whether you swallowed any seeds. If you did, be very careful not to eat any dirt or drink any water for the next two weeks.
10. Fat Chance
"How do i become obese fast? I want to look good by the end of the year."
You can start by eating two tangerines in two hours. Then run around in circles until you figure out what "obese" means.
16. Mathematical Matters
"Is there any possible way of making 2+2=5?"
The easiest way is to flip the positions of 4 and 5 on the number line. Another method is to use LSD (Least Sequential Denominators).
20. Turtle Trouble
"I was bitten by a turtle when i was a young lad, can i still drink orange juice?"
This is why old lads should be barred from Yahoo Answers. Seriously--where do they come up with this stuff? |

I rather stay away from it.
At the end of the story, I fee your pain and it does drive ppl to the nut house.
EDIT:
Actually, I can reveal one stupid question asked by another coworker.
In 2008, I was the first @ my work place to get the 3G, now everyone has a 3G, 3GS or IP4. Everyone ditched their Nokias, Blackberrys, Palms, Android and etc. Since the iPhone phenomena spread like wildfire, this was the end of my patient @ work, regarding iPhone help.
CW: I need to buy a iPhone for my GF in Australia, should I buy the 3GS (8GB) or the IP4? We need it for Skype'ing each other
ME: IP4 of course
CW: Will it be compatible with Skype? (He has a 3GS 16GB)
ME: For sure dude
CW: Are you 100% sure?
ME: Yes (angry & stupid look)
Coworker buys the 3GS 8GB Unlocked & ships it out to his GF, the following days I found it ...
I just kept looking at him and shaking my head from across the room for the longest time. |

ROGERS HUP policy is now 30 MONTHS!!!

Rogers HUP policy is now 30 months, not 24 months! That's 2.5 yrs until you can HUP! They are following Bell's foot steps with HUPs. |

Hi everybody.
Elise here from Rogers social media team.
I would like to say that we understand your frustration and where you are coming from and point out that HUP also depends on your account's specifics and Rogers' special promotions. So to your question about the best place to check your eligibility, I would advise you to log into My Account on Rogers.com or go to a Rogers store.
Rogers Hardware Upgrade Program still allows customers to upgrade to the newest devices before they have fulfilled their contract terms. You also always have the choice to purchase a new device at non-subsidized pricing if you want a new device before your contract is up.
When we do changes to our pricing, policies or plans, we take into account a couple of things. We want to satisfy our customers but we also have to keep in mind the competitive nature of the market at this time, the cost of devices or the investments we make into our network and technology. For instance, we offer additional protection with the Handset Protection Guarantee.
As always, I am up for further discussion. You can contact me via PM or on Twitter where I am @RogersElise.

100% unacceptable!
Why? Your reason and statement, does not justify the policy change for the new 30 months HUP! 2.5 years is way too long; this mean we can NOT upgrade our iPhones until we skip 2 generations! This policy also gonna affect the Android, Blackberry and WP7 users too.
Example:
1- HUP to IP4 July 2010 - Yes
2- HUP to IP4S July 2011 - No
3- HUP to IP5 July 2012 - No; not until Jan, that marks the 30 months policy. At this time frame, why would anyone get this generation? 6 months later Apple is gonna come out with new ver.
From now on, I will be purchasing all my phones unsubsidized and regardless how great the retentions plans are; it's not worth it anymore. This type of treatment is totally cruel and unfair.
Only if Apple made their phones AWS enabled, this indeed will change everything. again.
(That's my little msg to her reply on HoFo) |
