That didn’t take long, the Redsn0w team have jailbroken the final version of iOS 4.2.1 — there’s also a how-to guide, so all you more technically literate iPhone users out there can get out there and partay!
A tethered jailbreak, Redsn0w 0.9.6b4 is based on Geohot’s Limera1n bootrom exploit which has already pwned all current iOS devices for life. |

Tethered eh...damn I might wait for an untethered version. |

That MobileMe tracking is amazing!
Thank you Apple for making this free to us.

(All of my emails are EAS, only Yahoo is imap'ed for my notes)
Example:

*MobileMe Gallery is not a freebie* |
That was the only thing I liked about MobileMe and the fact that its now free makes me like Apple even more. |

Well since the cat is out of the bag now I will let you guys on a little secret that has saved me HUNDREDS of dollars that last few years on top of the 20% discount because I am a USPS worker ;) I actually had an employee account plan but it got taken away a while ago when they did auditing lol
AT&T has a plan for "basic" phones thats unlimited data AND messaging for 25 bucks. IDK why it says 30? But they did roll back to 25 and thats when I got on it.
http://www.wireless.att.com/cell-ph...atId=cat2080038
Once I got that plan and I had no data and no MMS on my phone to begin with. I had the plan WAY before the iPhone was "capable" of sending MMS's so I wasn't to worried about that part, it was the DATA that was KILLING ME!
After searching after messing with the phone after talking to people that know whats up I was pretty pissed that I couldn't figure it out. Everyone told me "nah dude...that is impossible the mobile me plan is on it's own (server/satellite/you name it) that you can's access with that phone." I even posted this idea on a forum with iPhone/AT&T geeks & experts only to get laughed at and ridiculed. Insert sad violin song here.
Well after a few weeks I figured it out. BUT I kept quiet, I did not want to let the cat out of the bag and then all kinds of people do this and F it up for me. Then MMS came out a year + later, and of course I wasn't able to get it working initially. But after a few weeks and by mistake I figured that out as well.
Now I won't tell you how I got it to work because a magician doesn't reveal blah blah blah and I am trying to go back to the mobile me plan right now as we speak. lol
And as far as DATA usage, I tether like a motherf'r because I travel a lot. Here is a screen cap of when I was in Vegas this last weekend. Mind you this is only half a day. haha

That's really a big deal tbh, lots of ppl use to do that here too.
They would get the $10 UMB plan and change the APN to make it work, even with thethering.
Some fool(s) here got free data for 6 months, since Rogers was block the APN methods and etc. Which was stupid, being cheap for those 6 months ... They missed 2 of the best data and msging plans. |

Comex is working on the Untethered bits, I'm sure he'll have it soon - just make sure you have your 4.1 SHSHs backed up and it should be a breeze. |

UPDATE: Do not update to 4.2.1 for the baseband protection. TinyUmbrella is no longer able to kick you out of recovery for that version. TinyUmbrella still works for prior versions and will be able to restore and kick you out of recovery for those versions but 4.2.1 has a baseband version check that will stop your device from booting if your baseband was not updated. |
