I'd wait it out until it's 100% confirmed and perfect.... but most of all... if it ain't broke, don't fix it! |

My GF came back from China last week and today I felt like attempting to figure out, what went wrong with her iPhone3G w/ the ChinaMobile sim.
I have three iPhone3Gs here, and all three I've personally had worked on. All units are jailbroken, ultrasnowed, and moded by me only.
I also have 4 different sims for testing, Rogers, AT&T, ChinaMobile and TalkMobile (UK)
Here are the results.
A - iPhone3G (Firmware 3.0 w/ Baseband 04.26.08) - GF's unit -
Rogers = OK
ChinaMobile = NEG
TalkMobile (UK) = NEG
AT&T = NEG
B - iPhone3G (Firmware 3.0 w/ Baseband 04.26.08) - Friend's unit -
Rogers = OK
ChinaMobile = OK
TalkMobile (UK) = OK
AT&T = OK
C - iPhone3G (Firmware 3.0.1 w/ Baseband 04.26.08) - My unit -
Rogers = OK
ChinaMobile = OK
TalkMobile (UK) = OK
AT&T = OK
I've even made my GF uninstall and re-install Ultrasnow in China to make sure its applied properly ... even just now, I've done this myself and no luck.
Talk about messed up.
Afew ppl had reported Ultrasn0w not working after being applied. I've heard 1/10 units will have this problem. |

It's thick and bulky...
A slider... I don't like sliders...
Only 256k for apps...
It's UI is horrid...
It's a Motorola
Its a Motorola
It's a Motorola... |

Did you watch the videos I posted, they certainly aren't drooling.
The keypads are etc.
The only thing good about it is the Android OS. |

It's 1mm thicker than an iPhone 3GS and has a full hardware QWERTY keyboard. By your logic, the iPhone is thick and bulky compared to my E71 at 9.9mm thick.
Yeah, Google is gay as about only allowing such a small space for applications, hopefully that changes.
The UI is perfectly nice looking and functional, certainly not like "baby's first phone OS."
Yeah, Motorola. They know they've ed up, and now they're rectifying it with a really solid, well built phone. Motorola used to be great, here's the beginning of their comeback.
My favourite part about it is the screen, which is double the resolution of the iPhone. |

How can you say that they rectified it when the unit hasnt even been released and out into the general public. Motorola hasnt been good since...

I've been using only motorola since 2001 and have been utterly satisfied.
then again, the phones I've been using have been iDen so maybe the quality is better than regular consumer phones? dunno |

Unfortunately I got one for free and it didn't last eight months.
I also sold in the wireless industry for years and watched countless Motorola Units break down. |
