Microsoft’s Windows Phone platform is a breath of fresh air in a crowded smartphone market riddled with boring iPhones and overcomplicated Android handsets._Nokia Entertainment Global_director of portfolio, product marketing & sales_Niels Munksgaard told Pocket-Lint as much in an interview on Tuesday while discussing the state of the mobile space. “What we see is that youth are pretty much fed up with iPhones. Everyone has the iPhone,” Munksgaard said. “Also, many are not happy with the complexity of Android and the lack of security. So we do increasing see that the youth that wants to be on the cutting edge and try something new are turning to the Windows phone platform.” Read on for more.
Munksgaard didn’t pull any punches, stating that Nokia is taking a “different” approach while other vendors seem to just recycle each others’ products._”The marketplace is extremely crowded. I refer to it as the sea of sameness,” the Nokia executive said. “When you walk up to a retail shelf at Phones4U and see the number of black mono-blocks sitting on the shelf, it is very confusing to the consumer. We want to deliver services and phones that are different.”
Nokia has released two Windows Phones thus far — the Lumia 710 and the Lumia 800 — and the company is expected to unveil at least one more model at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next month.

Apple Hires UI Designer Who Helped Mock Up Leaked Siri Design
University of Georgia student and user interface concept designer Jan-Michael Cart has officially announced on his new blog that he is headed to Cupertino to take a seven-month internship with Apple. Cart has gained some fame in the Apple rumor community for his ideas and concept mockups for potential iOS and Lion feature additions and enhancements.
And like that, my time has come — I am now a member of the Apple community. I will still update my website with random small portfolio additions. I will also open up the blog portion of my website to document my day-to-day happenings in Cupertino. Stay tuned!
Notably, MacRumors and Cart worked together earlier this year to create a video mockup of the "Assistant" feature for iOS that appeared a week later in the iPhone 4S as Siri. Working from our information received from a source with direct knowledge of Siri, Cart created a remarkably accurate depiction of how Siri would function.
While Cart's hiring by Apple may be a surprise to some given his role in leaking the design of Siri ahead of its public revelation, this is not the first time that Apple has drawn from what might be considered the fringes of the iOS community from Apple's point-of-view. Notably, Apple previously offered internships to Peter Hajas, developer of the jailbreak tool MobileNotifier, and Nicholas Allegra, better known as jailbreak expert Comex.
Still haven't hit the max speed yet, come on Rogers we pay enough cash for this network.

Am I able to upgrade to 5.0.1 (to get my SHSH saved for the jailbreak) and then downgrade to 4.3.2 and re-jailbreak?

Your master plan will not work anymore, it's iOS 5 w/ 3 levels of security checks.
1)internal baseband check to match iOS vers
2)random token key for boot ups after a restore
3)several iOS verification checks during restore
In short: Don;t even bother, ditch your iOS 4.3.3 and move on. I've had iOS5 for 6 months now, the general public has had it for 2 months and we all can agree it's leaps and bonds over iOS4 - stock or jailbroken.

How is ios 5 "leaps and bounds" better than a jailbroken iPad 2? I'm still on 4.3.3, and the only thing I feel I'm missing out on is the split keyboard. Never had a problem with 4.3.3 for getting apps either. Gestures are already on 4.3.3 JB, and I'm not all too impressed with iCloud either. I'm able to do the same on my computer for ages now. I dunno, I would have to disagree that it's "leaps and bounds better".

Wow guess you missed out on my 210 screenshots of all the hidden features I posted here.
This is speak for the iPhones
1) Performance - system wide, broswer and load time is 5x faster on the IP4 w/ iOS 5
2) iMessage
3) Notification Centre + lock screen "slide to lock' icons shortcuts that bring you right into the apps.
4) iCloud - It's outstanding if you have several iOS devices and it's saved my iPhone settings and data 3x (due to conflicts during re-imaging my computers). The instant data info pushed to all my devices just made my life a lot easier.
5) Photo Stream (My dad's iPhone is tide to my iCloud ID and as soon as he's on wifi I get to see what pics he's taken in China instantly)
6) Camera on the lock screen + flick to the right for camera roll access, grid and pinch to zoom. AE + AF locks are amazing.
7) Reminders w/ Geo Fence
8) Photo editing
9) Custom SMS tones (infinite amounts) w/o converting .caf and placing them w/ ssh access.
10) Safari Read and reader list
11) PC free (part of iCloud of course)
12) OTA updates
13) LED flash for calls
14) custom vibrate for contacts
15) HD video over 3G for Youtube
I can list all 200 if you like, but it seems like you need to explore iOS 5 more. Majority of ppl don't even realize how many new features are packed into iOS5, it really does have over 200 new features.

Thanks for the summary, but I'm still not sold when it concerns an ipad2 wifi model. A lot of what you listed doesn't even apply to a wifi model. I've got a 3GS too, and I upgraded to iOS 5, but the cloud and wireless photo stream stuff doesn't excite me. I still use a dedicated camera for quality pics, and I already have my stuff backed up on my computer. And gmail already syncs my contacts and calendars. I've looked through the list of "upgrades", but I still feel like I can do what I need to do on 4.3.3. Most of the 200 upgrades are trivial.

The iPad 2 Wifi and the 3GS won't really benifit from iOS 5 much, it's very limited tbh and it's more directed towards the IP4S, IP4, iPad2 3G and the Macs (which i still haven't owned yet)
I've migrated every gmail services over to iCloud the day I got access to iOS5. One day you will find iCloud to be a life saver, also photo stream for direct access to photos from another device is so handy and of course for photo backing up. I've seen so many ads on kijiji of ppl trying to offer rewards for their iPhones to be returned, so they can recover priceless pics of their kids and not caring about the phone itself.
Right now, I've been using every single new feature of iOS5 on the IP4S, IP4 & the 3GS and every single one of them are so handy. I still back up my iPhones (many lol) through the comp and iCloud, if the comp fails .... you will thank Steve Jobs RIP for this idea in 1997.

Maybe the day my iPhone and iPad and computer break at the same time, ya.
