Don't know if you guys noticed this or not, in iOS4 if you're surfing the web and have multiple Safari pages open ... It loads them up in the background, so when you switch back to the other pages, it's ready for you.
I thought this was only offered when multitasking was enabled ... Mine is off on the 3G while I found this.

My 3GS on 3.1 did this also sometimes for some reason...

Hey if you guys see the ih8sn0w jailbreak for the 3GS running the NEW bootrom (here). Don't do it. First of all it's a really long and complicated process. You have to install libusb which messes up your USB ports if you don't do it correctly. Second, the jailbreak is tethered. Third, it just crashes when you unplug it from your computer.
I just tried it because I am super nerdy and impatient which is a horrible combo to have sometimes. After many hours of messing with this stupid horrible jailbreak I am back to stock 4.0.

Told you the AT&T networks detects all these messed up and automatically assigns you a "proper" data package to your account. I'm deeply sorry to hear you go through hell and lose your data package.
I think it's unfair to do this, your plan is your plan and unless it's too low, then they raise up the HUP pricing. <--- Which I'm gonna have to battle Rogers soon for my IP4.

Thank you for posting this up dude, and sorry it didn't work out. At least you know why I dont like these guys now ....
I'm sure your efforts saved a lot of pain and suffering for all the 3GS NBR ppl and even though I dont own one, I am greatful for your post.

That's right, why own an iPhone if you don't have data. It's like owning a nice car, but you have to push it.
Yes it's a $25+ more a month, but it's a whole new world with it. Back then, you can skip out on having a data plan, now you can't. There was a time it was CHEAP, but now it's not as cheap .... go get a data plan dude.
EDIT:
Being in a WIFI zones still not a valid reason not to have a data plan. My buddy in Hong Kong lives and works in two districts that are massively big with free wifi
When your phone is off, the wifi connection breaks. Your Push Notifications for apps and email won't work, there's no connection to the internet.
Once you get the Push Notifications, start using your phone and the wifi reconnects within a few seconds.
What happens when you're on the road and you have to get some emergency info but, you don't have a data plan. Run and find a wifi area?

Will do man... I've been freeloading on wifi for way too long, and even though I'm within a minute of finding a hotspot almost anywhere I go, it gets inconvenient at times.

It's not that dude, the phone doesn't work properly without a data plan.

You can have an iPhone with ATT w/o a data plan but it defeats the meaning of having an iPhone.
I have a 30dlr unlimited data and MMS plan. That's why I am getting this error. I have had it for the past few years. This is the first time I got that text. Thing is, I am in San Fran right now. That's the reason why I got it, seems like they are monitoring here. They don't in LA or SD where I live.
I'm not changing my plan, and legaly they can't change it for me. I'm just going to ride out the texts until I get home. them, greedy bastards.

No prob man I love tinkering with stuff like this. The only reason I really wanted to jailbreak was quickreply sms, other than that ios4 has almost everything I need. The 3.x themes look like crap in ios4 too.
