Don't like posting rumors, leaked prototypes are ok and upcoming 3rd party cases, which is designed by leaked blue print. |
Lol at rumors...
There were pictures of actual, physical stock in stores...
The only rumorish thing was that today was the day but it turns out out that it'll be tomorrow...
Doesn't really matter to me. The only release day I care about is next years... |

I'm talking about future models; we've seen too many of the white IP4s, prototype and retail versions.
This thread was burn of everyone posted up the mock ups lol
The retail white looks better now, still kinda of bhatti IMO. |

Rogers NEW HUP Policy
Well this settles the upcoming changes to the Rogers Hardware Upgrade Program (HUP). It was confirmed yesterday by Rob Bruce (Rogers Wireless President) and now we have the full details for you. Rogers states in the internal doc that the new option for those who want to “accelerate their hardware upgrade eligibility” will be able to do so starting on May 5th.
Here’s how it’ll work: It’s a one-time fee that’s based on how long it’s been since you activated your current device and Rogers outlines this formula: Monthly Early Upgrade Fee (see below) x Number of remaining month before the HUP eligibility date + HUP price. Simple and straight forward. Here’s the cost per device:
- $10 per month for existing voice/QMD (Quick Messaging devices)
- $15 per month for select feature devices, tablets and smartphones
- $20 per month for premium devices (including iPhone and BlackBerry Torch)
In addition, Rogers notes that “we are also changing the standard HUP wait period, which will now vary from 18-30 months depending on the customer’s current device.”
Thoughts?
(Thanks tipster!) |

So it'll cost me 240 to upgrade a year early? Plus the cost of the phone??

Hardware $299 + 12 months $240 = $540 <---- That's $100 more then previous policy of $449 to HUP once a year.
Not cool @ all Rogers.
Something we didn't catch, 18-30 month HUP policy and does this mean the IP4 and BB Torch is in 30 month tier? |

Correction:
30 Month HUP boosted w / $20 per month early HUP policy._
July Launch - 17 months_
$340 + $299 + $35 activation x Tax
October Launch - 13 months
$280 + $299_+ $35 activation x Tax |

| That's hefty... At that cost depending on the user it might be worth it to say screw it and buy it factory unlocked from the Apple store. |

I can honestly say; after being with Rogers since the Cantel days, which means nothing anymore ... I'll be leaving Rogers once my contract is over._
The amount of changes to the policies and the treatment we get is not worth it anymore. I'm so tired of negotiating with them and it's an endless battle._
Prices are jacked up, their excuses are not valid and they don't get the picture.__
It's shame to be honest, I really liked their network. Even if they offer me some mind blowing retention plan, later down the road, policies are gonna change again and again. It wouldn't make me stay with Rogers._
Money is not the issue, as long as it's fair and valid for the "increases". We honestly do pay a little too much, if your looking at in market plans. The issue here is the principle and the lack of mutual respect.
I really hope the future iPhones and other devices will be UMTS and AWS bands. This would open a lot mote options for us._ |

| ^^^ Totally agree. And with their poor revenue and UBB resistance lately I'm sure there will be many of these "squeezes" in the not so distant future. I really wish they didn't buy Fido way back either because that used to be a viable option but has now almost been run into the ground... Hopefully some of the new upstarts can manage to turn the situation around (Wind probly has the best chance). |
