Flash (Adobe/Macromedia) has announced that they will have flash support on all major smartphones by early 2010. Initially it was never supported because the obvious data/bandwith required over the mobile network to use it, but now with higher speed mobile networks and higher bandwiths/allowances (not to mention it's frequency on the net) it will be supported soon...
The only way I KNOW how to view flash, is to run FULL Iexplore on windows mobile OS.
chinamon
george hotz does it again...

Oct 5 - Earlier today, Adobe revealed Flash Player 10.1 for smartphones, the company’s fastest and most efficient form of flash for mobile phones yet. Android, Symbian, Windows Mobile, webOS, BlackBerry…all of these phones will support Flash Player 10.1 by mid-2010. But the iPhone was nowhere to be found.
The problem: Adobe and Apple have been playing a painful game that has resulted in a lack of Flash support for red-hot smartphone. Apple doesn’t seem enthusiastic about adding Flash support, Adobe isn’t pushing hard enough. But at the Adobe MAX Conference, the rich Internet application software company announced support for Flash. Sort of.
It’s actually a new addition to Adobe Flash Professional CS5. Adobe has added the ability for Flash developers to export their work into iPhone app format, without the need to rebuild the entire app from scratch. You could soon see your favorite Flash games and web apps in the iTunes App Store.
The announcement is a great one for developers who have had to rebuild code to make their apps iPhone-friendly. However, this does nothing to place Flash inside the iPhone Safari() browser. Until this happens, we won’t be satisfied. Flash is a core component of the web. Hopefully Apple realizes this sometime soon.
Viper Security launches SmartStart iPhone app for well-appointed whips
Jealous of the way those hipper-than-thou ZipCar people are always unlocking the doors to their rented Minis with an iPhone? We aren't either. But if you are looking to recreate that scenario with your Dodge Dart, have we got a gadget for you! If you already own a compatible Viper security system, the SmartStart module will let lock and unlock your car, arm and disarm your car alarm, pop the trunk, or fire off that panic alarm -- all from your cherished handset. There are two modules available, priced at $299 and $499, depending on which Viper system you've installed. You also need a SmartStart account which will run you $29 a year (the first year's free). But don't take our word for it -- check out the action-packed video below for a breathtaking recreation of the system's features.

Just got my 8520!
Love the Trackpad. It rocks compared to the Pearl!!
One question...
How can I get Gmail on BES with having our IT Admin install it.
Can I just download the Google App program for that and get them that way?
Or should I just check my gmail account through the browser.

Unless your IT Admin has blocked it as part of a IT policy you can still add it through BIS with your service provider.

Sounds good.
I'll ask IT.
That's the main reason why you become buddy buddy with your IT Admins!

New ver of IM+ 3.4 has some neat functions
- Speech recognition as an in-app purchase feature.
- Animated Emoticons.
- Copy text from chat bubbles.
- New email notifications via Push - for Hotmail, Yahoo and GMail.

I just wanted to update you all with my experience with Ping!
- It took anywhere from instantly to 4 days to send or receive a message (yes, even manually)
- It stopped my hotmail from being able to send emails (stuck in outbox, asked for SMTP password all the time, when all is ok).
- removed ping and the push fix
- I can send hotmail now, but can't receive (no error messages though).
So it's been one huge messed up experience, and don't recommend it for jailbroken units.

At least you could fix your problems. I still can't get Cycorder to work. I'm tempted to start the iPhone all over with a total reinstall. I'd love to get a supposed "better" video app to work.
