Update:
We have been unsuccessful in jailbreaking using Greenpois0n due to the following errors that present on the iPhone. We will let you know when we've been able to jailbreak successfully. Don't forget to check out the new iClarified app while you wait :)
Unable to find gBdevList
Unable to find fs_mount
Unable to find fs_unmount
Unable to find fs_load_file
Posixninja reports that these errors are normal. Presumably, the procedure shouldn't hang at this point.
Update 2:
Partial success... Make sure to do a clean restore and to keep holding the home button until Greenpois0n tells you it has completed. Unfortunately, now Cydia is not appearing in the Loader app. This may be because of server overload.
Update 3:
Success :) After numerous attempts at reloading Loader. Cydia has appeared. Servers are likely being slammed and download is taking forever.
That's the reason all the MAC dudes were trying 20-65 billions times with RC5-1, RC5-2 is fully out now

Just jailbroke with greenpois0n windows version. No problems at all. Preserved BB with tiny umbrella.

I'm testing it, going legit next week for iOS 4.3.
I always test out the jailbreaks, how do you think I know my stuff?
Good luck trying to restore that IP4, since you preserved the baseband. |

Great Greenpoison RC5 ver 2 is out, no wonder Cydia couldn't download anything after the update.
Well, now I understand why Apple restricted YouTube and many other apps...
I was in Thornhill tonight for Superbowl, I was trying to show this chick some video and it took forever to load 4min Youtube video that's unrestricted HD Res. Took 20 mins to load 1/4 of it and then I gave up.
I did a field test mode and speed test, this is the main reason why we had low and mid res Youtube display. Most of the US are running this type of singal and speed.

| We have just been informed that as of February 15th, Telus in Canada will be offering SIM unlocking options on almost all handsets and devices. To qualify, you will need to be an active post-paid customer with an account that has been open for a minimum of 90 days. Telus will charge $50 for the unlock code and will unlock both iDEN and GSM devices. Not a bad offering, right? |

There is 383 pages, just scan? Im sorry that I didnt take notes of every thing you have said since page 1. Ill try and make a master sheet and repost so people can have the knowledge of the master E2EK1EL with out asking you a question that you may have answered on page 230 :S |

Once again, in 4.2.1 Apple has deployed an internal baseband checker, during a restore it will check the baseband @ 75% mark and give you an error code of 1015. If you use Recboot or Tinyumbrella to kick it out, it will send the IP4 into infinite reboot and you can't get out. The iOS ver MUST match the proper Baseband ver from now on. Only way to get out of this dreaded infinite boot loop, mod that host file and update the baseband. and you'll lose that unlocking access.
iOS 4.2.1 and future updates.
You can update it, but overlaying all these iOS vers will take a toll and you'll need to restore sometime in the future, especially for all those jailbreaking folks.
If you don't believe what I say, hit restore and give it a try.
MASTER SHEET was page one, but no one reads it and why update it right? |

Actually it wasnt answered. You simply stated a fact. Never did you say i couldnt restore to factory settings.

This is when I first found the problem on Nov 22 2010, during a restore for the public 4.2.1 and posted a few days later about the new Baseband checker
A) You have to mod the host file and lose the unlock if you want to update any future iOS from now on. Or it's gonna be suck in that infinite boot loop everytime you attempt to load the update during a restore.
B) Downgrading to previous iOS ver before 4.2.1 "might" not work unless you want to lose all your data from Nov to Feb. (Which I tried) Once you try to restore from any back ups, iTunes will say "back up is too old or new" and you'll have to restore as a fresh iPhone user or proceed with updating to the most current iOS
C*) This is a problem if you want to preserve the Baseband for future unlocks. |
