iPhone 4S iOS 5 vs iPhone 4 iOS 5 - Speed Test
I got the same results when I tested it this morning, it's upto you if you want to HUP and we all know we can't HUP every year in Canada. Saving your HUP for the next gen could be a very smart idea, but it's all up to you.
(You will only see a major diff in Browser speed, network speed, game loading and maybe the camera)

i cant figure out if its a bug or something is ed in my 3gs... the screen does not turn on when an sms/imessage arrives, no indication of it, other than the phone vibrating... i have to open the messaging app and then i see the message arrive at that moment... (even if it arrived moments before)

Sounds like a network setting bug that's corrupted or maybe something got clashed with the two carrier builds, try this and it may help ... maybe.
1) reset your network settings
2) delete your previous back up in itunes
3) back up and sync
4) DFU mode, restore and reload the new back up.
If that doesn't work, try a totally new fresh install (as a new iphone user)

Siri voice command system ported from iPhone 4S to iPhone 4 (video)
Developer Steven Troughton-Smith has been working with 9to5Mac exclusively to port the iPhone 4S Siri voice command system to the iPhone 4. Troughton-Smith was able to get the beginning steps of a full port rolling after installing the iPhone 4S Siri and Springboard files onto an iPhone 4. As you can see in the video, Siri’s interface loads up with all the features from the iPhone 4S implementation.
Siri running on an iPhone 4 (video)
Siri on the iPhone 4 can recognize spoken commands in both the standard Siri view and the keyboard Dictation view. The only issue at this point is that Apple is not authenticating (obviously) commands to its servers from iPhone 4 hardware. The Siri port to the iPhone 4, at this point, also has the ability to speak back to the user. You may notice Siri and the iPhone 4 acting very sluggish in the above video. The issue here is not Siri, but is that a special GPU driver for iPhone 4 is needed; and it is obviously not included in the iPhone 4S binary cache – where the Siri files are located.
Perhaps the biggest news here is that we’ve determined that there is no technical reason for Apple not to allow Siri to run on the iPhone 4. The iPhone 4 hardware can support the Siri artificial intelligence system, as the A4 processor is said to be powerful enough. We are not entirely sure why Apple is making Siri an iPhone 4S exclusive but it could be due to special microphone support, or because the A5 may allow it to run slightly quicker. After all, Apple is the company who blocked custom wallpapers on the iPhone 3G because the animation is slightly slugger than the animation on newer iOS devices.
We are, of course, working with Troughton-Smith to improve the Siri iPhone 4 port. Stay tuned.

Prometheus Xex
I've been looking and can't find it, but has Apple done anything to allow bulk background tasks removal?

The decision not to bring Siri to the 4 is a simple business one imo. Let's be honest there's not all that much of an improvement from the 4 to the 4S for the average non-power user. The more difference between them that they can create, the more upgrades from the 4 they'll get. Making stuff backwards compatible is nice for us but not always the best for revenue.

The iPhone 4S Camera is great, but the 1080p recording isn't to par to what I expected. Maybe its iOS update needed, but I've seen other 1080p videos that are ultra crisp. The colours are very nice though ...
You guys can look @ this sample and many more on youtube, full screen it and change the video mode.

Here's the progress for part 2
The hardest part is yet to come, connecting to Siri's server on Apple.
IMO I don't think it's possible; _downgrading, activate, baseband checks and unlocks all come from the same server._
