AT&T (via Macrumors) has posted the above video in hopes of clarifying how customers, new and existing, can get a brand new iPhone 3G S come next Friday:
On launch day (June 19th), two lines will form at 7 a.m. local time at the AT&T retail stores. Customers who had pre-ordered from retail stores will be able to pick up their iPhone 3GSs at that time, while customers who wish to purchase that day will have to wait until the store opens at normal business hours.
Pricing is still $199/$299 for 16GB/32GB on new activations with full subsidies. Customers already under contract, having already received subsidies last time around, can expect to pay up to $599/$699 (though some discounts might bring that down a tad).
So, does the video help answer your questions, if not allay your frustrations?

I'm not gonan do it, i have the the 8G there isn't that much of a differance in my opinion the new one is just faster. And the upgarde price would be determined by your revenue that you have generated since your last hardware upgrade so you might not get the prices above.

Yeah, that would be the case for sure.
It's nice to have a faster unit tbh, i got so much installed and so many apps running in the background ... the current 3G gets a bit slow at times and have to reboot it.
I'll take a look at someone's unit for a true test i'll conduct to really push the unit to it's limit for the "S" factor.
BUT ...
If I had cash, I would get the 3GS w/ the TomTom GPS kit ... that would be really nice. In reality, it's not worth it for us average income ppl lol

I just returned the 16GB 3G I got, going to get the 3GS for the same price, with some added features, why not?

LoL I'm still running 2.1 on my phone bc i have my phone set up to my liking and i don't want to have to jailbreak it again and reapply Instollous and redownload everything, even though i dont pay for my apps its still a pain :P

Djsketchbag you still work for Rogers? I got an iphone in feb, and they did not offer the $30 6GB plan. They offered it for the new HTC, i tried to get it, they wouldn't give it to me. Now they are offering it for new iphone customers, and they are not giving it to me. Is there anyway around this!?
Absolute bull that I am a paying customers, trying to spend MORE money and they are not willing to let me, because I already bought the phone in Feb. All the while I wanted the plan, and they did not offer it in that small window.
