| Yeah man you should be able to do between 9kg and 11kg. That's not very much weight at all. When I first started working out and doing curls I started with 9 |

He's almost 6 feet tall and 195 pounds...Google will calculate for you if you just put in what you want it to do. i.e. 7kg in pounds.

I'm just 1.77m / 71kg and for some reason my stomach is bigger than I'd like it to. I started working out last year and stopped a couple of months ago... but how come it is so big already?
I'm working on it now, running every day and making sit ups but... hell! Incredibly, the only thing that paid off was listening to those university lectures as I worked out :p
Oh, for you Americans, I'm 5'10" tall and 157 pounds. |

you should totally be slender at that height to weight ratio. why don't you try changing your eating habits. if i were you i would start a food diary and find out the things you are eating and figure out what is causing you to gain some weight. |

I definitely will... and I'm also going to pay more attention to my posture, now that you mention it.
I guess I need nutritional assistance, though, I mean...

... I eat a lot of grains, don't really like sugar and I'm a vegetarian (I do drink milk and eat eggs though, I ain't no vegan). |

oh don't follow pyramids, the original one was created by the grain industry to make people eat more bread and to increase revenue. anyhow, my sister used to write down what she ate and put the bad stuff in red after flipping through the notebook and seeing all the red she made some changes. i'm too lazy to do that but it works. also stretching is good...plus you shouldn't really worry about a little fat, from your height and weight and exercise routine you don't sound like you NEED to do anything else. |

im looking for some better chest exercises targetting specifically my middle lower chest to lower peck to the outer portion near my arm pits. i want to lean it up and start cutting it more. everything up top from the middle chest to my shoulders are shaping out real well, my mid section/core is dropping tremendously so i'm feeling kind unproportioned right now. my upper abs, lower abs, and obliques are starting to take shape, obliques are slanting in towards my mid/lower abs when normally i had that gut look.
my normal chest work out is - flat bench, decline bench, over head pulls (lay on the bench side ways and raise dumbell over your head and pull to mid chest), swiss ball push ups, incline flies.
im not worried about my main peck, neck, collar bone area, it's shaped up nice, just the underside i want to work on more.
i was thinking swapping out the flat bench, over head pulls for
lower/upper cable cross, dips, decline dumb bell press, and swiss ball push ups.
does anyone else have any other better lower chest work outs? it's easy to hit the bench but i want better range of motion since i dont want to target specifically the main chest muscle for any growth...i want to go for some cut now.
i've been off the protein for a few months, cardio is 2.5-3mi per day, abs every day.
----
also for back, need some better back exercises, currently im doing:
pull ups for warm up, lat pulls, seated row, and reverse fly
is there anything else i can do to target the lats more without being isolated to that 1 lat pull machine? |

What types of grains do you eat? What time of the day do you generally eat them?
You can, of course, have a slender body just by eating correctly but it's a lot easier when you exercise (as you're doing). Sit-ups aren't going to do much for you in terms of fat loss, in fact they'll do almost nothing but, when the pudge does go away you'll have much more defined abs. Sit-ups also make working out with free weights that much easier (if you ever decide to go that route).
The reasons for asking those questions above are:
1) The way your body metabolizes whole grains vs things like white rice is significant. Men that gain weight in their bellies can often attribute it to constant insulin rushes caused by eating eating things that are high on the glycemic index. Steamed White rice is a 98 (out of 100) on the Glycemix Index (GI) whereas steamed Brown Rice is a 50. White bread is a 73 and whole grain bread is a 51.
This is significant because things that are high on the GI cause your body to excrete more glucose which in turn causes your body to excrete insulin, which, among other things, is a fat storage hormone.
2) Carbohydrates are just fine to eat despite the phobia created by Atkins. However, eating lots of carbohydrates after around 6:00 (3 hours before bed) will cause your body to convert them into fat and store them during sleep instead of using them for energy. So just avoid high carb, high GI foods during the evening. Beer has such a bad reputation for making people fat because almost everyone drinks it at night and it has a ton of carbs and empty calories.
anyway, none of this may be applicable to you since i don't know what type of grains you're consuming. |

I'm going to do that then. But, yeah, I'm quite close to my objective, I guess, I just want to get rid of these bloody "love handles" :D
One last thing, by bad you mean sugar and what else? I'm really ignorant when it comes to nutrition :p
edit: Just seen Masonius' post :toothless |

Masonius' post is full of valuable info...also in regards to calorie intake try cutting back of the number of calories you drink like soda & juice; both have a ton of empty calories and don't do anything to make you full. along with that the amount of sugar can't be good for your teeth |
