i use scitec whey protein, 2 shakes a day:
1 shake: 500ml of milk, 25 grams of proteins and one egg (only the white stuff) ...that's 16+25+7=48 grams of proteins
so 2 shakes a day means 96 grams/day....i don't know how much i get from meals tho. i'm 85 kg.
any suggestion?
edit: sometimes i take 5 grams of creatine monohydrate with the shake too. |
i love food too much to be able to tolerate protein shakes. they're gross and upset my stomach sometimes, especially after a hard workout. i can tolerate myoplex vanilla in the blender with some frozen fruit, but that's about it.
as an alternative, i'd rather crack open a can of starkist albacore tuna in water....drain it, add some tomato, cucumbers, lime juice, salt & pepper and just eat it like that. |

you should try my protein shake, i made one for sash and said it was 'official'
half banana, 4 frozen strawberries, water, 3 ice cubes, 2 scoops protein, 1 scoop of l-glutamine, and 2 caps of glucosamine (chondrin+MSM)
blend and drink out of straw..mmmm I want one now |

Slylee - I can't bring myself to drink those shakes either. I would rather eat solid food. The tuna thing you mentioned sounds good...
On another note, I've been kicking my own ass at the gym and it feels awesome. Finished with school and internship so I can officially go back to 5 days a week @ 2hours/day without stressing about other stuff. |

the shakes are a supplement. Its hard to take in 200+ grams of pure protein a day.
bigger you get the more protein you need. Its for people shooting for muscular builds.
Trimming down its also nice to lose the fat and maintain the muscle but not as important. |

The only time I really used them was right after I lifted to get a large amount of protein in quickly.
Other than that I always preferred tuna, chicken, eggs or something like that |

yep all depends on what you are aiming for but it sucks that when you trim down you lose the muscle, i was much stronger when i was chubbier :) |

hahaha
i always call them "sammies" :p screw u.
anyway, it's not? why? because of the yolk and mayo?
i mean, it's better than a burger or pizza. it's a sandwich on whole wheat! with lettuce and tomato...it's got protein in it. |
