It doesn't sound like she was lying, though. She just honestly wanted to eat brownies rather than work out. :clown: |
No, she told me on Sunday that she was starting the routine on Monday. She didn't follow through, and son I am disappoint. |

| I actually ate 3 delicious brownies tonight at work. However I'm not fat so I can gloat about it. |

Went for a run today, because it was a lovely evening. I'm fitter than I expected, given it's been a good six months since I was regularly running. I might be able to do that half marathon after all.
EDIT: Also, does anyone else have, um... digestive issues after they've gone for a run? |
What are you eating before? Please don't say fruit. |

, when I started it, I only did the first round of Chest & Back, and didn't even do Ab Ripper because I was so exhausted and ready to collapse that I stopped. I puked the next morning during Plyo. But I finished the workout, and didn't miss any workouts for the entire 3 months. I didn't make any excuses. |

No fruit. Today it was an omelette and then a bowl of breakfast cereal. I always leave an hour after eating before running, and I always make sure I go to the toilet before setting off. I like to have something to eat about an hour or two before a run so I've got some energy to run with.
I've never actually been caught short while out running, but I usually need to go when I've got in. More important to me is that I often get stomach pains, like trapped wind, and these pains can seriously harm my performance. It's been a long time since I hit my limit in terms of cardiovascular fitness. These days a run always ends because I'm in too much pain, usually abdominal. |

it could just be me, but eggs before exercise is nasty. They just sit in your stomach and make fart bubbles. |

As Jay said, could be the eggs. Takes a decent chunk of time for protein to digest, eggs in particular. I was going to say ease off on the protein before and go with a higher ratio of carbs but I know you do distance running so you definitely need more fuel than that.
Either you need to eat at least 3-4 hours before if it's high in protein, or if that's not ideal (because you might be running in the morning), load up your cereal with WPI so it digests quickly, then hit up the protein solid foods (eggs, meat) after the run.
The wind is almost certainly linked to the eggs and possibly milk, but can't be sure until you cut them out and see how you go. |

The eggs aren't my usual pre-workout meal. It's more likely to be the cereal and the milk, because I eat quite a lot of cereal. I'll try eating something different before a run next time, and see what the effects are.
The abdominal pains seem to be inevitable though, if I run for long enough I'll eventually be wracked with them. As I said, it's always the pain that defeats me. |

Are they muscular "holy crap I've done way too much exercise" pains or more internal "I probably shouldn't have eaten that" pains? I get pretty sore abs from a 3-4km run and I know for a fact you run much further than that. It's why it's such a good workout.
Might want to ease up a bit if it's really debilitating pain though. |
