WHAT? I must have most of the weight in my ass then. As I said, I'm 6'2", 180lbs, 10% body fat and I look pretty damn skinny. Go figure.
PS. You don't look skinny at all. If my arms were that size, I would be happy. |

at what point does running become bad for your knees, ankles etc...
I've be running all week for 25-35 minutes.. i've also always had a bad knee from football, i prob just need a brace... |
Personally, I think running is always bad, can't stand it. Yeah it'll get you in shape and all that but it isn't good for your joints. I prefer the elliptical because it has no impact or I ride the bike; there is some type of stigma that the elliptical is for women but really why run on the tredmill when you can "run" on the elliptical? Also now that it's getting warmer you could go rollerblading or something, cardio without the unnecessary impact. |

running is only bad for you if you are bad at running. and most people are. so go for a walk. or hike. |

+1
I wish I could just flat out run but, unfortunately I have too many things wrong with my body to do that. Running on a hardwood floor during basketball is about my limit.
I'm thinking of getting a bicycle to add some variation to my cardio. I'm sure it will be much more enjoyable than 40 minutes on the Stairmaster. :/ |

Your joints can take it so long as you build them up to that point before you go nuts with you running. From my experience, the joints just take a lot longer to build up than, say, your leg muscles or your heart.
The younger you are when you start building strong joints, the better. You can assist the process with things like flax seed oil, Omega 3/6 oils, etc.
I grew up running around in the woods, playing soccer, and rollerblading, so my joints have never been a problem (knock on wood). |

| Thanks to everyone with the good advice, I am however going to continue running daily. As long as I strech I feel good, and if my knee bothers me I'll just wear a brace. I know how to run properly and have decent shoes. Im 19 and I take care of my body so I think my joints can take the beating for some more years. ;) |

my dads been running since he was 14 or so. Hes 56 now and runs something like a 55 second 400 and is in great shape.
Just dont over do it obviously and make sure you are keeping your muscles balance like hamstring strength so you dont tear it |
