To be fair that person male or female would only need about 10 more pounds to be considered 'normal' instead of 'underweight'. Not too far off, but you are right it doesn't matter if they are male or female. |

getting your abs to show is not about working them out, it's about lowering your bodyfat %. Focus on dropping your caloric intake, and do lots of cardio as well as weight training. Weight training is most important since u still burn cals after leaving the gym, whereas with cardio, as soon u stop, so does the calorie burning. |

so does anyone go to spin classes? i've been so bored with cardio lately that i've started "spinning" by myself but i don't know what i'm doing. i need to do something new like take tennis lessons or kickboxing or something fun. i guess i could try dance but hip hop classes fill up quick. |
I like punching on a bag for a change of pace.
Gets your heart rate up really quick. |

Too small? i dunno.. what if you have a thin waiste and smaller bones? Or your training to be a marathon runner, or a rockclimber. To each his own. If you're 130 fit lean and cut i see nothing wrong with that. Weight and height is a ridiculous measure of fitness. Several things need to be taken into consideration.
I remember at 134 lbs I was rininging off 1 handed chinups benching 205 lbs and doing chinups with 90 lbs attached to me.
I think i was in far better shape then your "average" man with the ideal bmi at 6 feet and 170 lbs.
I wouldnt let being slightly overweight or slightly underweight discourage anyone. It depends what your training your body for, what you do, and how you feel physically. |

| you would have to have mini bones for 130 to look ok and be 6' tall. if you are a woman at 140 and 6" alright but a guy at that weight is small, muscle weights more too so i don't believe that will look healthy per se. i don't particuarly think marathon runners look good, they look like they are deprived imo |
