No particular brand Bill, just as long as they give plenty of ankle support and have enough cushion on the soles that act as 'suspension'. I know it's normally time to replace my running shoes when I start to develop or feel a little painful around the shins. Also known as shin splints :whip:
I bet that pissed you off bigtime Jen? :haha: |

OH!!! You know what really pisses me off?? Stupid ing idiots that don't read the signs on the track about walking lanes and stuff. These two stupid whores came in yesterday and were taking up both outside lanes, which are meant for joggers and runners; the inside lanes are the walking lanes. And yeah...they pissed me off.  |
ing whores, i hated that too. my new gym here doesn't have an indoor track; just treadmills....which i prefer cause its like my own personal lane and don't have to worry about any other bastards |

Truly. I have such little patience for like that. I *almost* said something to them...but I didn't want to be all psycho-runner like Tea Leoni in Spanglish, lol.
Also, I wear Saucony's Progrid Omni.

How do people feel about the punchbag as an alternate cardio exercise to running? It's exhausting work and it really works your arms, shoulders and back in my experience. I've been considering investing in a good punchbag for a while now, especially on those cold winter mornings when it's too frosty to go out jogging. |
excellent alternative for sure. you can burn some mad calories and build up your conditioning quick with bag sessions. |

| I used to have one of those 100lb bodybags in the bottom floor of where I lived, I miss it. They really don't cost that much. Worth it if you have the space. |

A pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 11

and a pair of Brooks Glycerin 6

alternatively. Always ran on Mizuno, but I wasn't too happy with this latest pair, so I decided to try something else -> Brooks. The Mizuno pair is due for replacement. Don't know yet whether I will get another pair of Brooks, but I probably will. They are somewhat heavier, but they sure do a good job of supporting my elephant stride. |

its funny, some people's goals are to slim down; bulk up, etc... but mine are just to really maintain.
i mean, i'd like my arms to be a little bigger - but not to the point where i'm actually measuring them now and want to pick out a certain amount of inches i'd like to increase (lol, that's what she said)
my metabolism is still ing fast which i guess is good; so i'm not a fatty - but it also doesn't really help muscle growth either.
just wondering if anyone else just works out to just plain ol' stay healthy and in shape? maintain what you got? |
personally i sit in front of a computer all day at work and 99% of the time i eat lunch at my desk. in the 10 or so hours i'm at work i'm pretty much a sloath so i NEED to do something that requires me to move after. plus it relieves my stress...i do like to have a goal though one could always improve something. |

when i was on the track team at my highschool there were always people who couldnt follow proper lane arrangements and/or randoms there doing whatever... and being a thrower, we loved ing with people. so if someone was in the wrong position we had a field day with them.
the best is when someone not from the track team would be running. because you're supposed to yell 'track' at them before anything would get out of hand. instead, we'd yell 'you're in the wrong lane' right before we bodychecked them :D |
