Granted, but again there's a big difference between "recover to a decent level after about an hour" and feeling energetic after a few minutes. Anyone feeling the latter is probably not pushing themselves hard enough.
I have the pain associated with pushing yourself while working out but am still energetic. One of my illnesses has to do with chronic pain, so it is fairly normal to me? When you frequently feel like a group of people have attacked you with bats for an hour, the soreness of working out isn't that big of a stretch. Used to it. My body and my normal are incredibly different from most people. Ah well.
Also, diet does factor into recovery time. And the smilies on this forum confuse me.

I'm supposed to feel happy afterwards? I feel fine while I work out, but when I stop I just feel miserable :conf:

whenever someone posts GSMILE , it's usually in a sexual reference. but then of course, its also just jokes. as there is no actual sex on TA.

That's what we're talking about. You get a big endorphin rush, and those endorphins don't just vanish.
It probably depends on your workout routine, what kind of exercises you do. I work out at home with heavy weights and I try to do high intensity sessions, never resting for more than 60 seconds and doing a full workout in half an hour. When I'm finished I just stagger out of my basement and collapse for a while. When I went to a gym I never felt so destroyed because the same workout took much longer, what with waiting for equipment and machines to become free, and so on.
But yeah, my post-workout state is utterly exhausted, warm and very uplifted. It's almost post-coital.

had a long day at work. came home and worked it. just doing the simple sets i've been doing lately, but increasing weight just a little bit. little bit goes along ways, i think. i'm sore right now, in fact, my left arm feels kinda tingly lol. but i'm glad i did it. and i'm noticing some little changes now in my chest and that makes me feel good :)

I'm in desperate need of new running shoes. My old pair of asics are worn the through. I only ran 2.5 miles and had to stop because I could feel it burning a blister on my heel.
Anyone have a preference? I was looking at footgloves:
I've seen a couple people wearing them and they're not TOO expensive ($80 for the pair I'd need/want). Granted, they're uglier than sin but the concept behind them is decent I think. My trepidation comes in the fact that I don't think I could run in them outright and I wanna be able to run distance immediately.
Also -- the smell. I am assuming they're machine washable, but , that means a lot of washing.
So I dunno.

i'm a runner and i can tell you right now, DON'T get foot gloves for immediate distance running... heed your trepidation.
i could see you trying to go barefoot on grass for a while, and then transitioning to the FG for longer distances and on harder surfaces, but you are asking for trouble going from your old asics to FGs... you would lose so much support and cushioning overall making that dramatic of a switch, that you have to give the muscles that stabilize your body (in your lower limbs, feet, ankles) a chance to develop.
if you were feeling a blister on your heel from your old asics, and you try using the foot gloves get ready for a whole new world of pain.
granted, that's not to say that you couldn't get used to foot gloves just walking around. but running in them is asking to be injured.
go with another pair of asics. great running shoe.
