you should eat something but i wouldn't eat an entire sandwich because imo that's a meal...or anything with mayo.
not that i'm the example but i snack on light healthy stuff like: raw unsalted trail mix, baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, an apple or lightly salted rice cakes. i also used to eat say a pria bar or luna bar on my way out of work.
you want to put something in your body but not anything that will potentially weight you down and chances are you'll be hungry after your workout so why eat dinner twice? you don't want to intake too many calories. |

I always have a whey protein shake after a workout...gotta repair those raped muscles!
I get the chocolate flavour and add a tablespoon of peanut butter and a banana. Sooooooooooooo gooooooooooooood. |

| No I mean RIGHT after a work out (I usually go in the early afternoon). I always eat a proper dinner. |

| oh mid afternoon and morning workouts are the best...if i wasn't such a lazy ass i would drag myself to the gym before work but i hate waking up early. |

| Yeah, I'm really not motivated to do it any other time of day, plus I usually work the evening shift - which is 3-11. Gym's closed after that. And yeah, I wouldn't go that late at night either. |

If I can work it, I like to go to the gym in mid-late afternoon. None of the early-morning, stretch-marked mothers and their incessant brats and none of the evening d-bags who yell every time they do a rep and joke about cup sizes.
1-2pm is primeprimeprime!
I think I'll go for a run tomorrow and gym at around 1. Then errands \o/ |

You should wait at least 30 minutes though, after consuming a meal. You need to let the nutrients get absorbed by your body so you have more energy for working out.
Edit: As for the topic at hand I go whenever I can. I work 10-6 usually so I'll come home, eat dinner, chill for a bit and then head to the gym around 9.30-ish. If I have the day off then I'll go as early as possible (so around 1pm) and do other things the rest of the day.
And don't even get me started on those annoying douchebags that have to grunt every time they lift a weight. They're usually the guys that never take the weights back of the machines. |

| I sometimes forget to check myself when I'm givin'er on the rowing machine or elliptical, cause my music tunes everything out. I think "Why the are those dudes staring at me??" and then I realize it's because I'm being all loud and . |
