Is it not optimal to do abs every day? Over 1 month, I've worked up to 2 sets of 30 every day. When I do my other exercises I take a day off. I'm going on vacay in a few weeks. I'm not looking for a 6 pack, I just want to be in good proportion and posture.

You'll find mixed opinions on this. I used to do sit-ups every day, two sets until failure, and I got fantastic results in a very short time period.

Do abs last. Always last. Reason is that they are incredibly strong and I think only the tongue is technically stronger, so you have to make sure they are fatigued before you work them.

If you're just doing the abs, then add some resistance. Here's a great ab exercise:
Grab something heavy, preferably a weight but can be anything really. Do a normal crunch but when you get to the position that you normally go back down on, extend your arms slowly upwards and lift the weight. Now, it's very important that on the way back down you take it slowly using up about 3 seconds to hit the ground again. Then pull the weight down to your chest and repeat. Try and do 15 reps with like 3-4 sets, but remember to go slowly. Up the weight when you get good at it.

Once you've done that, do planks. They suck but are incredibly good for core stability and tightening your abs. Aim to do 60s, then rest for 30secs, then 60 again. Do it 3-4 times. Once you can do 90seconds three times with 30secs rest in between, you're doing really well. Make sure your hips down sag down or become too elevated. Try and stay pretty straight and steady when doing them.

The beauty of these is they are resitance exercises so you won't get those massive golf ball like abs but more the flat surfer ones.

As for doing abs every day, well you can certainly stress them far more than other muscles but it's good to always take one day off a week. If your back starts to hurt, you're over doing it.

EDIT - I'm going to mention it again even though most people are aware but diet is incredibly important for good abs. You could literally do ab exercises until failure every day for an entire year, and yet you would never get fantastic results if your body fat was too high. It's one of the first locations where fat gets stored.

The tongue is comprised of several muscles and it's a complete urban myth that it's the strongest muscle in your body anyway.

T-pushups are tough ; and even tougher w/ free weights in your hand.

did 2 sets of 15 with 20 lb weights. woo hoo!

this spartacus circuit is tough, i recommend it if you want a full body workout.

You get on your knees and bob your head front to back.

He loves it.

Completed the first 2 weeks of P90X. Never missed a workout, never cheated on my diet. I would love a beer and some pizza...

So far I have lost 13 lbs and almost 2% body fat. I'm feeling really good, bouncing around a lot muscles are becoming firmer. I decided to go for a run on the treadmill after I did yoga and I haven't ran for almost a year. I ran 2 miles without stopping, I think that says something for P90X.

I'm addicted! I like eating healthy and working out. I miss going out drinking and eating with people. But once I'm fit as a whistle I can go out once in a while and have some beer and pizza! Getting ready for my trip back to California in June!!!

Only gotta do that 2 weeks 5 more times... No problem!
