| How do people feel about the punchbag as an alternate cardio exercise to running? It's exhausting work and it really works your arms, shoulders and back in my experience. I've been considering investing in a good punchbag for a while now, especially on those cold winter mornings when it's too frosty to go out jogging. |

No doubt.
Running is weird. It's such a love hate thing. I dread it as much as I look forward to it. Guess it's that whole pain/pleasure thing. |
it sucks when you're doing it ; but you feel great afterwards, kinda thing. |

| Yeah but I enjoy it while I'm doing it. That's what I'm saying, yo. |

I dread the before thought, but I actually feel great as I'm getting into my stride. The first 5-10 minutes are generally a pain, but once I take it up a notch and the adrenalin starts to kick in, it starts to feel pretty damn good. |

Going back to the music thing...the fact that I only spend 30 minutes on the track works out so perfectly with most one hour sets/mixes. Cause usually the way they're programmed coincides perfectly with when I need surges of energy, lol.
The only thing I don't like about the track at my gym is that it's above the courts...so there are clocks all around it, and I hate being conscious of the time when I run. |

i make a game of it....try to make each lap a few seconds faster. or at least try to stay at the same pace if i'm not feeling too motivated |

Yeah I'd let that stuff settle mate :) I doubt they'd let you back onto the treadmill that you'd puked on just a few days beforehand.
Jennie, buy yourself a pair of slanties. Problem solved, and think about how cool you'd look!! |

speaking of pairs - what kind of shoes does everyone use for running? any particular brand that you stick with? |

I'll be the envy of everyone at the gym! :stongue:
OH!!! You know what really pisses me off?? Stupid ing idiots that don't read the signs on the track about walking lanes and stuff. These two stupid whores came in yesterday and were taking up both outside lanes, which are meant for joggers and runners; the inside lanes are the walking lanes. And yeah...they pissed me off.  |
