Holy crap I couldn't find this thread.
Anyone know of good breakfasts for the morning?? I'm so addicted to bread stuff and I wanna stop.
I also don't cook in the AM so i'd prefer something quick and easy. |

you can have bread, just substitute white bread/rolls with wheat or multigrain |

option 1 - oatmeal (regular not sweatened), 2min max in the microwave then add a little brown sugar.
option 2 - blueberries/straberries low fat yogart and fiber cereal |

Yogurt is a great easy breakfast. Or yogurt and a piece of fruit. I love cooking breakfast so I usually make eggs, sausage, cottage cheese, coffee...the whole thing :p |

I don't like Yogurt and Fruit isn't going to hold me down.
By the time I get to work I'd probably be hungry!
Oatmeal might be a good thing.... |

You don't like yogart :eyes:. I don't believe in diets so why change what you are eating? Imo there isn't anything wrong with toast and stuff just as long as you aren't eating like 4 slices of bread. Have a cup of coffee/tea with a piece of wheat toast/english muffin or whatever, no need to stop eating what you like just eat less. |

exactly what wai said...you don't have to stop eating and yes fruit won't 'hold you down' but that doesn't mean you can't snack again an hr or two later. believe it or not, i actually lost a good 10-15lbs by eating regularly during the day. that doesn't mean eat 2 chocolate bars one hr, then the next have a bag of chips, then later some ice cream. Eating regularly keeps your metabolism going, just choose healthy foods and you should be fine. |

Mel why don't you increase your water intake? I believe I once read that a lot of people eat when what they really should be doing is drinking water. Also, you don't necessarily have to join a gym. Get some pilates DVDs or something. You live in the city so do what I do every now and then and just walk. Seriously about once a week I try to go on an epic walk (~40 or so blocks)...trick yourself into exercising. It'll give you more energy to do everything else.
Snack a lot, I'm not skinny but I'm not fat either and I'm constantly eating but like Brian said good stuff...apples, trail mix, pria bars, apple sauce, rice cakes, the list goes on and on. My mom is a total health freak and wouldn't buy what a lot of parents buy their kids so I guess it's easier for me because I grew up eating that way. |
