if you have a cold, start taking 2000mg of vitamin c every day, a berocca and garlic tablets. don't take them all at once, spread them out evenly over the day.
do some light exercise to get the blood moving (20 minute walk), but other than that just eat alot and get loads of sleep.
best sickness cure ever. |
thanks :) but why eat so much? i get the sleep thing but i don't even like food right now let alone want to eat a lot of it...i feel so blah

whenever you're sick you need to try and eat an excess in calories, otherwise your body doesn't have enough energy to recover as well as it could. |

I was originally going to get NOW Adam or NOW EcoGreen Multi, but changed my mind last minute after reading various multi-vitamin reviews. I've written off Animal Pak as a ripoff for years as well, but never actually tried it. This sort of turned me away from ordering Adam as well: http://www.thatsfit.com/2007/08/07/...amins-to-avoid/
Somehow I never realized that Universal made Animal Pak. I really have a good impression with Universal after stacking their Storm and Torrent products, so I took a chance with Animal Pak. It does seem Animal Pak and other Pak/Stak/whatever products by them seem overpriced, but a majority of their other supps seem very affordable. I'll probably end up trying NOW Adam or EcoGreen when Animal Pak runs out and see how they compare.
And on a side note, I think NOW Foods is my favorite company. It's absolutely ridiculous how affordable and concentrated their products can be. Their EGCg Green Tea is epic win with a higher % of polyphenols and catechins than every other Green Tea supp I've read. The only thing relatively close to it is PrimaForce's Lean Green, which is 60 servings/500 mg for ~$9. Don't get me started on their Whey Isolate or NOW Super EPA either :gsmile: |

was thinking about this the other day. if you are in good to great cardiovascular shape how fast should your heart rate go back to your resting heart rate after doing some type of cardiovascular exercise?. obviously a quick recovery time but what are the thresholds? since i don't really trust the calories burned or care about how far i've gone on the elliptical i need a new goal to try to achieve hence my question.

You can watch me workout ANY time, big boy. :gsmile:
But srsly, just got back into my routine. I'm looking forward to some BIG progress in the next couple of months. Going to buy an exercise bike today and my home gym will be complete. I'll post pics of my 'dungeon' momentarily..... |

Here is my new 'gym'. Instead of getting a membership when we moved, I decided to bring the gym to us and reduce the amount of time spent travelling to and from and all the other crap you have to deal with in sharing equipment with other people. I have everything I need/want except a dip station and I think I might pick one of those up shortly. I wouldn't mind heavier dumbells (mine go up to 52.5) but the Olympic bar has always been the cornerstone of my workouts.
The lat tower/low cable machine works great and so does the chin bar. The bench is solid and easily moves back and forth between positions.
Plus I can control the music that I listen too and at what volume. And I can fart in the middle of a set and not care. ;)
Can't wait to get the bike and then my plan for ripped massiveness will be complete. :thepirate
P.S. - The cat is my personal trainer. She can squat like 545. Just look at her haunches.....MASSIVE. |
