Lots and lots of protien from good sources, especially lean meats like chicken and fish. Lots of fresh vegetables, and don't go ape on the fruit (too much sugar is bad no matter what the source). Whole grains.
Really, what you need to be eating is lots of good, real food. No processed white starch bread product, no sugar drinks, no high fructose corn syrup, etc.
Get a gym membership and make good use of it. Go 2-3 times a week and push yourself. You'll see results quickly. |

form form form.
start light, get your form nailed down. No using lower back, no swinging. Keep joints like you elbow in ONE spot during motions like curls. Isolate that muscle youre working on. Get your form down so even with the lighter weights you can tell which specific muscle is doing the work.
Then start pushing it once your tendons are strong. Do warmup sets.
do 3-4 sets for each exercise. Do 3 exercises per muscle. Always be doing one more rep, one more set.
DO LEGS and ESPECIALLY calves. Do NOT fall into the pecs and bicep pitfall so many do. Your gains will be just as fast and youll look sooo much better.

my goals are pretty much to be more fit, leaner than i currently am, and bulk up a bit. some definition but i dont want to look like a meathead muscle whore.
and the calves thing. yeah i like my legs to be not so small.. so yeah i will work those. i like the balanced look. i dont want to as you said fall into the pecs and biceps thing. not a fan of that. |

yeah, absolutely work your legs. You will look funny with tiny calves and quads and bigger upper body.
It takes quite a bit of work to look like a meathead muscle whore ;)) |

so you want to lean and bulk? Youre going to have to bulk and get fat until your 10-15 lbs overweight and then lean down. You can do both. i tried it for years and made no gains for 2-3 years. Now that i just started eating and what not I got fat and a lot larger muscularly. its a soft look but if I lost 10 lbs right now id be 11lbs heavier than i used to be and WAY more ripped.
Get fat, lean up for the summer. You have until end of March to gain as much weight as possible. Then start leaning down for the ripped looked. |

so really i should not work out yet gain weight and then start working out?
to be honest im pretty slim to begin with. i lost 10lbs very recently and it all pretty much came out of my gut. |

| no you need to eat like 4k cal a day and work your ass off doing low reps high weight for 2 months and then start leaning down on calories and upping the reps lowering the weight |

woohoo!!! Sugardevil's back! It's definitely getting to be that time of year where meals become bland, the digestive tract starts protesting loudly and every morning you get to wake up feeling sore but looking better. I absolutely love the approach of Spring!
