Quick question. So I'm a fairly skinny guy. Not because I don't play any sports or I don't eat a lot of food, I play very competitive tennis daily, and eat tons of food. Anyways, today I decided to cut out all sodas, candy, and junk food, and start working out with heavy weights to gain muscle mass. I heard from some people that Whey Protein shakes, actually help you lose weight since its whey, and that what I should be really wanting is creatine. Is this true or na. Also when doing High Weight - Low Rep workouts, how many sets should I be doing, if I'm aiming for 4-8 reps a set.
Also any tips for someone who is generally pretty weak, and wants to get jacked. |

This is just going from strength journals I've read. I'd say 1-2 sets. It depends on what you're doing though. Also you need protein to build muscle. Creatine will give you extra mass and strength but the gains are temporary. To me it seems like something that could be useful if you're doing competitive lifting. Some protein can help lose weight if you get something that has no carbs, low calories, and no fat you can definitely eat very light a few salads/veggies/fresh fruit and then drink the shakes as a supplementary protein source. That can help you gain muscle mass and strength while maintaining a low calorie/low fat diet conducive to weight loss. Keep in mind that weight will be mostly fat as you're building muscle by lifting heavy weights and supplying your body with the necessary protein. |

So I struggled with myself for over an hour yesterday about going to the gym. I finally decided I would go, even though I still didn't really want to, only to get there and find out it closed at 3 o ing clock! .
'Twas for the best though, I was still really stiff and sore from Friday. Today I feel good! :D |

Sounds like you're losing interest in working out. We need to slap you around a little bit and get you back on track. :tongue2 |
