Gotcha. I shall use my adjustable weights for this task. Maybe I'll go for 5lbs. to begin and use small gains for further motivation. Gah, I really want a nice hex weight set with a rack. But my limited space means the Weider machine has to go. And that thing is so convenient. :( |

The quickest way to reach your 10lbs muscle gain would be to eat a bit more than normal, so u will put on a little bit of fat, but the muscle growth will be the quickest with plenty of calories from clean food. Then I would do a cut and go on Keto, which is killing carbs down to around 40g/day max and u get to eat lots of bacon, cheese, full fat dressings, steaks, etc. Keto requires full fat food since u force the body to convert to fat burning to generate the sugar it needs to run on. This diet is what most BB's do after a bulk session and it allows u to drop fat very fast w/o much muscle loss. |

MOTHERER. The gym's closed all weekend so they can resurface the floor??!@!
I wouldn't be pissed if I hadn't gotten up so early to go there.
edit: you, school. Home work-out + beach blade ftw.
I haven't done my home workout in so long...I forgot how much it kicks my ass. Gonna be nice and achy tomorrow. :D |

yea your a little off. Light weight and lots of reps is more of a cardio workout, not body building! Powerlifting is being able to get a heavy ass weight up once or twice...and most people don't go that way because your body type takes on a fat boy look and just generally a large frame all around. Most powerlifters have high BF % because they eat a load of food...their not trying too look good. |
look down at later post

Well, let’s first establish that terms such as "light" and "heavy" are relative terms in weight lifting. Because of that, percentages in output (your max weight for a single rep) are usually used for each individual person. Example, a power lifter will likely push himself to 80-100% with low reps where as a bodybuilder will probably tread around 40-75% with a higher number reps. Body builders are looking definition and mass, and while one obvious benefit of body building is physical strength, it’s not the #1 priority. |

bodybuilding is doing a ridiculous amount of isolation exercises like 12 types of curls :haha:
bodybuilding program http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/ice.htm
powerlifting is just generally maximizing deadlifts, bench press, and squats
also a lot of other compound lifts like chins, stiff legged dead lifts, good mornings, military press, etc
oh and also all the olympic lifts. clean & press, power cleans, etc
bb is like doing front delts, side delts, rear delts when powerlifters would never isolate each part of the delt like that
powerlifters find bodybuilding vain and douchebaggy personifying them as guidos. dudes with spiked hair that do curls on the squat rack. |

Because my gym is closed this weekend for floor resurfacing.
And my home workout is great...just hard. :(
I get quicker results doing my home workout than using the machines at the gym. But I have better motivation to work out when I go to the gym.
edit: I guess it's not the weekend anymore. I'm all thrown off because of our holiday. |
