i wonder what deliciously evil conditioning routine awaits me today.

this was the morning one (couldn't attend because my car is ed), tonight's will probably be different:

3x20 Squat
3x10 Jump Squat
2x5 Tuck Jump

Then:
Knee Jump:
2x5 @ No Weight
3x2 @ 45# BB
1x2 @ 55# BB
1x1 @ 65# BB
1x1 @ 75# BB

Then:
15x (20sec Work/10sec “Rest”) Front Squat Push-Press
Player must hold BB throughout (even during “Rest”)

Then:
30/30 Frog Hop
Rest two minutes

30/30 ******
Rest two minutes

30/30 Split Jump

----------------

i can thank the s at GymJones for that. did it on saturday. it's a bitch. knee jumps kick my ass.

wtf is a knee jump? Sounds like some hack trainer-created bs.
Silky Johnson
I'm guessing you bring your knees up really high to the chest as you jump?

hack trainer BS. sure. GymJones only happens to train professionals in nearly every sport area, from martial arts, to track and field, to rock climbing. they also happen to be the guys who trained the cast of 300 (yes, all those '300 routine' things on the internet are bull. there is not 1 routine, they just tortured the crew like they do their athletes). but fine.

a knee jump is when you begin kneeling. in one explosive movement, you have to be on your feet. weight is put on a barbell, you hold it like you would for a backsquat.

edit: can also be done with kettlebells or dumbbells, held at the chest.

jenny, what you are referring to are tuckjumps.

Tuck Jumps

Explosive power.

The Tuck Jump is a foundational movement for mastering box jumps and Olympic lifts due to the quick powerful push and pull of the legs. It is one of the most metabolically challenging explosive bodyweight exercises that can be done alone or combined with any number of other movements to develop explosive power.

lol I knew it was some weird made up . Stick to squats and forget that crazy jumping . Don't be that person in the gym everyone is laughing at. You will never go wrong with the old school core work: deadlifts, power cleans, squats, rows, crunches, benchpress, military press, pullups(all grips and widths).

lol. yes. i will listen to you, instead of my trainer, who happens to be a doctor, the country's best martial artist, ranked #2 in the welterweight class at BellatorFC, and literally one of the people in the most phenomenal shape i have ever seen ever, because you think my workout is silly.

and I will believe doing these bull jumps will build the perfect body, lol. Diet is 90% of this game. Try to sell us on Richard Simmons or Tony Little's fag workout. But he's a celebrity so it must work right? Wtf does Martial Arts, or being a doctor have to do with bodybuilding? I'm a microbiologist, so does that make me a better lifter compared to the guy who works at wal-mart? No it doesn't. I can also list fellow lifters who win BB events. I bet they will put your guy to shame.

and WHO ON EARTH said i was a bodybuilder?

this is a workout thread, not a bodybuilding thread.

you ARE aware not everyone likes to be in shape just to look at themselves in the mirror right?

you ARE aware being a doctor will help in knowledge towards what sort of movement attacks which muscles at which angles, when something is too much, how to properly treat an injury, proper nutrition and proper combinations of repetition and weight depending on the desired goal, right?

i am a martial artist.

i do not train for aesthetics. i train for function, speed and power. being larger means being heavier, means fighting at a higher weightclass.

you look in front of the mirror, and make sure your pecs are perfect and your biceps are nice and pretty. i wrestle, punch and kick people.

so don't ing talk down to me and act like you know what i am doing better than i do. and while your fellows may win pretty-boy contests and lift heavy weights, my fellows can rip them a new .
