there's been studies that doing lighter sets of the exercise you're about to do is a safer route of warming up instead of stretching.
i prefer to do some light cardio before getting into my lifting routine, and then doing lighter 'warm up' sets before my heavier lifting sets.
only difference is that i'm using a 25lb weight for all of the exercises, and i'm doing reps, not 1 minute worth.

Yup...I cringe when I see people just walk into the gym and start doing all these crazy stretch routines. Nothing like tearing a cold muscle lol.

I only slept 4 hours last night but I want to go to the gym for some low impact stuff.
Recumbent cycle?

Yea I don't get where this idea to stretch before working out came from. If anything stretch between exercises, and afterwards when your muscles are nicely warmed up. Stretching cold muscles is retarded.

I don't really know much about circuit routines, so I can't really say what difference it makes. I'd still stick with my initial prediction that it'll just make the thing easier because you're adding more rest time to the same reps and weights, but the best thing to do is try it for a week or two. Everyone's body is different, and if you feel you're getting good/better results then stick with it. If not, go back to the old routine.

There is this one guy at my gym who ALWAYS gathers like 4 different kinds of free weights around himself while he takes up two benches for his little work out plan.
Yes, I can do my free weights at home but I like to do them right after hard cardio.
I really shouldn't complain though because I don't have the balls to say anything :o

Just take the bench next to him and fart as much as possible.

I have always been told that you should stretch at the beginning of the workout, and at the end of the workout. Apparently that's to minimize the risk of injuries. This is just word of mouth advice, and not by experts so it could be bull, dunno.
