I slept through almost all of saturday. Went to sleep at 10am woke up 8am Sunday. Twas a very good Friday :D |

AWESOME day for a run!!!!
did 1.5 miles outside. 80 situps, 40 pullups, 30 dips.
there was this total douche running around the track. i happened to hear his conversation to a friend that went something like this:
"yeah, man, i gotta get some sun man, yeah, pool opens this weekend man, gotta get some sun man, running some laps man, gotta look good for th epool, man."
his friend responded with, "this weekend man? awesome man"
i need headphones to drown out arrogant like that. |

I try and do 10-14 miles a day on my bike. A good portion of that is up hill, lots of climbs. Its twice around a park in my city. If I do 14 I go back along a beach and up this mondo hill and back into this neighborhood with hills.
What I want to know is what sort of equiv is that to running?
Also how important is strength training when trying to lose weight. I don't really want to be muscular. I wouldnt mind being toned though so its not flabby.
I have my brothers free weights in the basement and a membership to the local Y...
How good is swimming also in aerobic excercise?
I should ride today, but I am supposed to be waiting for a phone call. :(

Also I dont eat that great. I try and eat breakfast, but I dont have a good morning routine... :( If I do its usually a bowl of grape nuts. For lunch its some sort of sandwich. Dinner is usually some sort of meat dish, chicken, pork, beef... usually with veggies and stuff... Should I be taking vitamins on top of that to cover stuff I might be missing? |

Strength training is key as well as diet. It really helps you burn more fat, so go for it.
running/swimming/biking
as long as you're pushing yourself hard enough are all good for cardio |
