very true, diets don't work. It is a lifestyle change that needs to happen. However the Atkins diet/Keto has been shown to not increase chances of heart disease, raised cholesterol levels etc, and it is very satisfying to be on. I mean c'mon u can pig out on chicken wings with full fat dressings, salads, and best of all bacon!!!! I can do without breads and pasta tbh for good. I don't like the sugar followed by the insulin spike from carbs. With that said, its harder to build muscle, since carbs will put on muscle faster, along with a good amount of protein of course.

It just doesn't seem right to me, eating all of that fatty stuff and no carbs. Kind of unnatural. But then what do I know.

I tried to cut carbs right down a while back but I have rice with my meals all of the time and Im not much of a fan of brown rice. Meh, maybe I'll give it another shot but it seems to me its either mushy or too hard.

so i'm our squadron's fitness program manager. and we just got a new squadron commander. and i told him i'm our squadron's pt guy; andhe's like, "good...we'll talk later". he did a special operations assignment back in 2002 and i saw his PT test score from then he got 100 (perfect) on it...and its been slipping ever since (pentagon jobs). so he's looking to get back in shape; as well as kick the rest of the squadron's fat asses as well.

i sent out an email the otherday telling everyone (in a PC sort of way) to put the fork down, and get their asses to the gym. i have a feeling this new guy is going to feel the same way. which is good in my books. all we do is sit for 8 hrs, people need to get exercise. its just healthy.

also, getting a perfect (at that time) meant he did over 80 pushups in 2 mins, over 80 situps in 2 mins, and ran 2 miles in about 13 or 14 minutes (the pt test has changed since then). but to max it (both now and then) is pretty hard to do.

i'm kinda over miami...haven't been since wmc. ft. lauderdale is cool though...more laid back...mostly bars with live rock bands...that sorta atmosphere.

hehe, everyone has the exact same reaction where they ask how can u lose weight while eating nothing but fats? Well if u know how Atkins works, its the same principle. This is not for your average person really or someone who just wants to be fit. It serves a purpose for the obese and bodybuilders and those that are not afraid of a challenge. If u can't see yourself dropping carbs, then u will have trouble. Eating carbs will knock the body right out of Ketosis and will end up making u fat. It worked very well for me, and after a bulking phase, doing keto is like a treat with all the foods u can almost gourge yourself on, while dropping fat quickly and preserving muscle.

to be honest, most of the restaurants in south beach are overpriced and overrated. of course there are some good ones like joe's and smith & wilensky, etc.., but ft. lauderdale has some great dining.
