You will never progress if u don't push the limits. Plateaus are a bitch. I'm very pleased with my results over the past 2 years, but I'm always striving to be better. With that said progressing does not mean bulking up...girls do have this mentality that they will get bigger and it's sad. You will if you roid it up and take Testosterone, but thats a different subject, lol. The girls in my gym I see squatting 150lbs and benching/using free weights are the skinniest and best looking, and I don't mean the brutes...totally feminine =) |

i understand this but as i said above i'm solid i don't want to be any stronger because i don't see a need. i used to do squats on the machine at 215lbs i have pushed my limits and at this point in life i don't see a need to so it anymore. i've got definition so i'm pretty good on the muscle thank you. keep in mind i live in manhattan in a 4 floor walkup so i get my exercise in other ways especially since i do maybe 50lb of laundry at a time as well as trek around the city with all my groceries. i have the muscle and when the time comes that i can't clearly see them when i flex i'll increase the weights but not now...i don't plateau either because i make a concious effort to change my works outs a couple times a year so when something gets easy switch it up.
i'm looking toward the lean route and that means less weight and more reps plus more cardio. i shouldn't have written get big because i know i won't turn into serena williams or a man but the point is that i work out to get rid of stress and be healthy. i sweat and get good workouts, i spend enough time at the gym that i would be doing myself a disservice if i was half ass about the gym in general. overall i think my routine is relatively well thought out and productive...although i always welcome modifications. i use lower weights but it's important to me to have good form and go from one thing to the next relatively quickly so that i AM getting a good workout. |

I've been gaining weight for the past year and I do it by eating junk food all the time. My arms got thicker but my stomach is fat like burger ass. I think if I stop eating so bad and start eating right I can turn that fat into muscle and be my ideal weight 175 but its all lean muscle.
Thanks. |

I have been lifting for three years now. I never focused on legs until recently i noticed that I was shoulder pressing more than I could squat. I was pushing 225 shoulder press and could barely squat 205, this was just 6 months ago. After watching Arnolds video, and his remark about squating until he threw up, I decided to get serious about legs. Yesterday I squatted a clean (full range of motion) 335 four times. I am now a believer in pushing oneself to the limits, as this is what I have done for six months now and have achieved +130 pounds on squat. Twice during this past six months I have blacked out in the gym and was revived by trainers, and I dont regret it at all. Those were my best lifts.
Lift hard, or your wasting your time. |

hehe, well blacking out might be taking it a bit far, as u can easily kill yourself...especially having 335lbs fall on your skull, but nice gains. |

haha, yea I didn't mean it in the way where your eating garbage...that was a tad harsh  I also will eat that 85% fancy chocolate since it's pretty low cal and only around 5g of carbs for a decent chunk. Good stuff! Rewarding yourself with something like that keeps your sanity  If your not already a user over at BB.com Get your booty over there! There's such a wealth of information available that most people pay outrageous money for to have a trainer say to them! |

this is where i find almost all of my work outs. it's useful, even if you don't practice any concentration.
great day at the gym, i spent about an hour on cardio (probably too much). several reps on free weights (biceps) 25X - 30X pounds
100 + stomach crunches.
bench press 120 - 160 pounds
shoulder press 80 - 100 pounds
some spartan push ups (about 20-25)
spent about 90 minutes on it all. approx wearing my italia calcio shirt of 94...felt great. |
