i won't lie I'm quite the mirror hog myself, but no way do i lift up my shirt and flex my abs. i think for me it has more to do with the exercise form and how it targets the muscle is what i'm really looking at. example is if i'm doing tricep extensions, i do the motion without weights and see what it's like if i turn my wrist so my palm is out instead of the bottom of my hand. i look at the way the outer part of the tricep turns. I guess all in all, there is some vanity in me, then again i came a long way from where I was from so I think my head is naturally inflated because of that...hey i put in the hard work i deserve it lol

yea i grabbed a smoothie at jamba juice right after my workout with 2 whey protein shots in it. then i had plain chicken breasts cooked in peanut oil when i got home and some steamed broccoli.

the sandwich was really minimal and i hadn't had a big lunch other than soup, so i was literally starving. i can't work out on an empty stomach. i only used one slice of whole wheat bread and scooped some tuna salad in it and folded it over and ate it, so it wasn't like a full blown deli sandwich or sub.

i'm gonna grab some fat free peanut butter and do that on whole wheat toast before the gym..also for breakfast.

i'm not big on shakes either as much as i try. i'd rather just open a can of albacore tuna after my workout and eat it plain (no mayo) with some salt and pepper, lime juice and cucumber.

oh yea and i look in the mirror too when i'm doing free weight stuff but it's so i can focus on my form. and sometimes i'm fixing my hair or something lol

if you are extremely hungry you might consider snacking throughout the day and/or moving the time you eat lunch. imo you should never be starving...maybe i'm pig but i'm a firm believer in the 5 small meals a day theory. i'm always eating :toothless.

as for the mirror, i look at myself too but for form purposes only. i don't like working out with people so i don't have anyone telling me i'm doing anything wrong so i have to figure it out myself.

i only laugh at the guys who lift up their shirts to look at themselves at every angle for extended amounts of time while they just stand there. i have a personal favorite who i can't help but look at because he's hot but he makes me laugh every single time...narcissist

my main problem is making time for breakfast. i really need to make it a point to at least grab a smoothie or some peanut butter and toast. lunch i always do and it's usually a sandwich/sub..try to keep it healthy. but yea, for the goal i'm working towards (firming up and gaining some lean mass), i need to do the snacking. i have a really strong appetite for my size and i'm pretty much always hungry. i'm one of those types who is always down to eat no matter what lol

i keep baby carrots in my fridge too with fat free veggie dip.

but when i go to like family gymns like bally's or premier fitness, where theyre like normal gymns ppl look at me like im a monster and ask for advice. Makes me feel like a bull. rofl. but then those gymns close like at 9pm and arent open certain days yaddi yadda. at least my greaser juicer gino gymn is open 365 days a week all day everyday.

oh and the chicks in there are bigger then me

Hahah, which gym do you go to? The one I go to is open 365 days as well, but I've never seen any WWE people there.

come on, we know the mirror's there for checking out the other people in the gym :o
Slylee
no i'd rather check myself out than other people when i'm at the gym.

you might want to work out with someone and have someone tell you are doing something wrong, you might be hurting yourself more or could be doing work outs more effectively. i see it all the time in NYSC, people who take the 3 pack sessions to get the basics down, then go about it themselves incorrectly.

another thing i've been really big on lately is stretching, simple yoga mat poses can effectively stretch out your upper body and I see a lot of people just not stretching enough. i've started to toss in some pilates after my long run days and finish off with some mat stretching.

we should hit up nysc one day chimera

yeah come to the grand central station one please :p

i think the worst example of people doing weights wrong is watching people go crazy on bicep curls. the weights look like they're too heavy and then the person throws puts their back into it. i'm thinking that's a good way to get hurt.
