Thank you for your professional advice on what I am doing wrong with MY body. I had no idea that your muscles grow and recover during sleep and relaxation. Perhaps you could lecture me on dieting as well?
I've been lifting for 9 years and I'm pretty confident I know what works and what doesn't work for my body by now. I've helped many friends start out in the gym and I've always gave them guidance on what has worked for ME and that it might not work for them. Everyone reacts differently. Preacher curls might have worked wonders for my biceps but they might not do jack for Joe the Plumber. I've approached my workouts with a plan, a proper diet, and 7-10 hours of sleep a day.
We probably have different views on overtraining. To me it isn't time in the gym or how much you grow... it'd be snapping muscles, not being able to get out of bed, pushing the body past what it can do, etc. With your mentality, heavy laborers on construction sites should work for a few hours and then take the next 3-4 days off to "sit on their ass" and relax. |
You're a complete moron. One of the dumbest posts I have seen in relation to training. Working out for 9 years to boot, lol. Please do other people a favor and never give training advice. |

Hell no, that mag is an utter piece of with useless common sense information. Go hit up the Bodybuilder forums for better, proven info. |

I'm 6'2, 200 lbs, and according to the calculator 25.7 or overweight. Overweight? Not a chance. Hell, I'm trying to get up to 210 lbs at least before spring training camp.
This number does not take into account that I played a college sport, am wide in the shoulders, still can see four of my six abs, or anything else. I'm in the gym 5-6 days a week, on top of skating 4 days a week. If you were to grab another person in the gym that fit into the "healthy" range, more than likely I could either out lift or out run them.
Every single professional athlete would fall into the unhealthy category (with a few exceptions).
Healthy is an individual feeling not some random stupid number. Each person has a different body structure, goals, etc. If you are really looking for a number that dictates some degree of healthiness look at body composition (% body fat). |
you seem a tad snappy... |

Not really..especially if you've been out of the game for a little while. But I don't really know...would be easier to tell what's wrong if I could actually look at and palpate your foot. :p
You may just need better shoes with more arch support. Or maybe it's just bruised. |

well i don't bruise (i scar, don't bruise, go figure). and it doesn't hurt when i press on it hard w/ my hands. well...it kinda does. but its not really a sharp pain, but of a dull throbbing. there def. is some throbbing in there. i'm tempted to go to the gym anyway. i mean, even if i can't run; i can at least do some more weight stuff. but i do like to at least get in a mile :(
edit,
also, it didn't hurt last night - i woke up with this. |
