After a long break from gym(about 2.5 years) i went back october 06. This time i am more focused on cardio and losing the fat. I do 30 mins of running, then do various abs exercises and after that either chest, legs, biceps+triceps..etc. I took an bad break after thanksgiving and went back last week. Im really hoping to drop fat weight in the next 4-5 months so i dont have to be ashamed of myself during summer.
I wish i havent stopped over 2 years ago. I wouldve been a machine right now since i was going 5 times a week doing muscle training. |

I have a variation on these where, on the upward pressing motion, I take a bite out of a roast beef sandwich.
I call it a 'french dip' - Instant protein assimilation directly into the chest.
I hate myself for making that joke. |
:stongue: corny dude, awesomely corny. Where have you been?! :( |

4-5 months is plenty of time to get in exquisite shape, just keep at it and, most importantly, watch your diet. Good luck man |

I'm a skinny ******, so recently decided to start working out.
Only started last Monday, and I've already noticed some increases in size, so that's good motivation to keep at it...the hardest part for me would be the diet, main meals are fine, but it's the snacks in between, I'm not sure what to take.
I have some of that weight gain powder, which I take in the morning around 8am, and then one just after working out.
So any ideas of what I could eat in between breakfast and lunch, and lunch and dinner?
P.S One of my mates is going to start on the steroids at the start of Feb, should I ask him for before and after photos of his balls?:D
I heard steroids can shrink them, plus you grow and your voice pitch increases. |

It's tough, the diet part. Good snacks are:
Non-fat yogurt
Eggs / Egg Whites
non-fat cottage cheese
vegetables
now then, splitting your typical 3 meal day into a 5 meal day is even better. limit your snacking but eat 5 substantive meals a day. Chicken, brown rice, steamed vegetables, some whole grains, tofu - you can do a lot with those ingredients.
You probably need to ingest more protein powder if you feel you are too skinny currently, twice a day isn't going to help you much. 1.5 - 2 grams per pound of body weight. For example I'm taking in 220+ grams of protein per day until I reach the muscle mass I'm comfortable.
It's much easier to increase in muscle and fat, then cut the fat than to increase in muscle only and maintain a low body fat percentage. So pretty much eat like a pig, workout a lot then cut. Obviously there's a tad more to it than that, but that's the general principle.
Most guys in the gym aren't too bright yet they can achieve amazing results - the only thing they possess which most people do not is self control. Balancing rest, diet and workouts takes a bit of discipline, but beyond that it's pretty straightforward.
Damn, reading what I just wrote it's more of a ramble than helpful, whatever I'm watching a movie while I write this ^.^ |

| It's just finding the time to eat a lot, due to work. And see when you say eggs, do you mean like in a glass :nervous: ...gives me the shivers thinking about that! |

I stopped working out seriously for two or three months and was eating rather horribly (not very much at all, and what I did eat was mostly nutrition-free carbohydrates). I have become somewhat flabby and weak. I have resolved to start working out again and eating better.
Pictars will be posted later if I am pleased with the results. :o |

it's just that first week or two that are kind of miserable due to DOMS, but after that passes and your tendons are done shrieking in agony, it's easy to get addicted until you get sick or distracted by more important stuff. |

Yeah after the first 2 days I could hardly move lol, was so bad I was considering not going into work. Felt like I had been punched all over.
Since you seem knowledgeable MR Mason, I'll ask you about whether or not I should be talking my mate out of taking steroids. He's already massive (though not really ripped at all, mainly bulk), so we were suggesting that he should work on that. But he wants to be even bigger and wants a shortcut to it, so are steroids a good idea? |
