| Running outside is the only way to go. I can't stand using a treadmill or cycle, I need to see myself making progress. Plus, it's a great way to get a good geographical sense of the area you live in. |

Running on a treadmill is much better for your body though. More shock absorption when you step down so it's easier on your back and knees.
+1 on getting rid of the machines, resistance training doesn't give you nearly as good of results as free weights. Plus using free weights gives you better balance and a stronger grip. |

I don't know. I never could be on there longer than 10 minutes ish. My body can't handle it?
Oh and with running outside, I like it better when it's a little colder outside, but the rest of the year, it I'm on a treadmill. |

Give it a week, I need them like training wheels before the muscles can adjust to the free weights. :p |

What if you split up your cardio? 10 mins in the beginning, weight lift, followed by 15-20 mins after? That's what I do, the 10 min run in the beginning tends to get me pretty energized to work out. Only problem is running an additional 15 mins after the workout, I get pretty lazy and only do like 7 or 8 :p |
that's exactly what i used to do when i was weight training. i hated cardio but i knew i had to do at least some, so i did my workouts just like this too. |

interesting see i can only do the elliptical and bike because the treadmill is like a torture device for me, hurts my damn knees and i HATE running because i can't really read and do it like when i'm on the bike. |

| Ahhh, see that's EXACTLY how I feel about the bike and the elliptical. Makes me feel like my knees are going to cave in and do something not healthy lol. At the gym all the cardio machines face a huge mirror so I can see all the machines behind me and I sometimes watch the people rippin along on the elliptical and it fascinates me. |

have you tried going backward on the elliptical? it actually seems to put less pressure right behind my knees. i'm never on the thing longer than 14min because i only use it to warm up but when i used to do it for 30+min it was a good workout. anyhow try going backward, keeping your feet flat and not over doing the levels, you might like it. |

| seated reclining bike is great and walking at 3 speed on full incline. those are my favorite. but i turn into even more of a skeleton when I do cardio and weights |

I never go below 95 RPM and I always try to keep it withing the 95-105 RPM range... Although I ride a cycle only when all the treadmills are occupied. |
