lmao thats how i discovered the pike press
if you want a real shoulder workout, do a handstand pushup. To me the pike press is analgous to the "ladies aid" knees bent pushup.

Need to find motivation to start running again. Ughhhhh.

Fuuuuuuuuck lunges. My #1 least favorite exercise. And yes, it's because my legs are ing weak.
I actually really like squats, leg presses, etc, but lunges absolutely kill me, and not it a good way.

Hahaha! *points*
Lunges give the best burn. I find it so satisfying. Legs is the only muscle group I can always keep pushing and pushing and not want to bitch out.

I would rather bash my head on a block of slate than do 100 yds. of lunges.

I started running again too. I do 2 - 3 in the morning and 2 -3 in the evening.
Thinking about trying a half-marathon in a few months.

Another run today. 8.61 miles in hilly terrain, in the somewhat unimpressive time of 01.20.59. My legs were so tired by the end of it I couldn't really have sped up if I tried. I'm trying to get to the point where I do 20k of hill running, so when I go back down to 10k of relatively flat running I'll feel like I'm flying.
EDIT: Also, I'm very surprised to find I don't seem to have lost any fitness at all. I stopped running regularly in October and have only just started again in the last couple of weeks. Yet my fitness levels still seem to be identical to when I stopped running.

That's it. If it's not damp tomorrow I'm going for a run. I'll be a bitch and just do 3k. :o

Were you at a particularly developed phase in your training program when you stopped? Many well conditioned distance runners find that they are able to sustain an optimal level of cardiovascular fitness with little to no training when they reach the peak of their regiments, followed by a month to two months of relative rest (though nearly eight months is a bit unheard of).

Not really. At my peak I was running 6 miles, three or four times a week. That's not really "well conditioned" and my form was destroyed by a succession of niggling injuries. By the time I stopped completely in October I was only running about once a week.
In 2011 I've only ran four times, and today was the fourth. The first was a one-off in January, the last three have all been in the past fortnight. I may also have jogged home from a club while drunk once or twice, but I can't really remember. I also played football once about a month ago.
Despite this lack of exercise, I'm still running just as far and just as fast as I was doing 8-10 months ago.
