So you know I just started going to the gym after so many years away.
And I figured I'd try one of these shakes, since I hear they're good as a breakfast on the go too.
GAD was I wrong. IT WAS SO GROSS. Here's the can;
It tasted like waste water from a pulp and paper mill.
Do all protein shakes tast this wierd and gritty? |
Theres some good tasting ones out there, but I wouldn't waste the money on them. |

I'm a hot mess...seriously. Maybe I'll try protein shakes plus do yoga / pilates or walk the 60 or so blocks home from work until I feel better. Could be a good break for me... |
people managed to be alive without protein shakes.
if you dont eat much meat try beans, and other veggies with lots of protein. if you are very vegetarian, make sure you have a complex mix as veggies do not provide a satisfying mix like the meats.
to be honest it sounds like you just need more movement. yoga or pilates would be a good start. its just that lesser used muscles can get severly tweaked with standard weight lifting exercises. use less weight, go SWIMMING, do something that utilizes those muscles - and it doesnt have to be hard core exercise

I'm not a huge bean fan...I'll try veggies with protein. Not a vegetarian either I just don't eat substancial amounts of meat. As for hard core exercise, I feel lazy if I don't do it but I'm gonna take the next two or so weeks and do light stuff...walking, pilates, yoga, etc. Stretching more and alleviating pressure will be key to me feeling better...Oh well |

well there are other veggie options.
mostly it sounds like a range of motion issue. and yoga and pilates are not the only option, although they are exceptionally hip.
just work out 2-3 times a week, go lighter if you need to. ing yourself up working out is just as bad as not working out

Oh I know I'm leaning toward the two hip options because my gym offers one of the two pretty much everyday plus I've done them before, boring but challenging if you make it. 2-3 times a week makes me :nervous: I don't want to become lazy, I'll walk to places instead of take the train if possible.
Bought Kashi Go Lean protein today and it's pretty good. Biznology you got me thinking about protein and I realized I stopped eating almonds and peanuts like two months ago and didn't replace those with other foods containing protein... |

well nuts are awesome...lol
but i am allergic to peanuts, not lol.
take it easy! im serious, swimming, even if not for 'exercise' trains all of your muscles try it
