Some other things...
They are also sometimes called liquid nitrogen BURST systems. (instead of blast) or LN2 foggers.
Here's another site that has good description of how they work as well as systems for sale.

It's easy to find sites that sell systems but not ones that describe what they actually do very well. This one does.
Other possible keyword searches are:
LN2 burst
LN2 fogger
Dry foggers
Cold Burst
Cold Blast
That should net you a ton of other sites to look at.
As others said, there are a few CO2 based systems out there but most of the commercial dry foggers run off of LN2 (liquid nitrogen). The reason for that, other than it just works better, is that "air" is made up of mostly nitrogen anyway. If you blast a bunch of CO2 in the room over and over, it can lead to a shortage of oxygen making it harder to breathe. Nitrogen can do that too but just not quite as bad as CO2 does. Plus it's waaaay colder therefore it works better.
Some other interesting things about cold/dry foggers is that the fog you see from a LN2 system is actually the water that's in the air already being forced to condense from the extreme cold. It's just like when you "see" your breath on a very cold day only the other way around. The nitrogen makes the "cold day" real fast and the water is already there.
If you blast a LN2 system into a very humid room, like some clubs in the tropics that have a lot of water in the air, it actually snows tiny little snowflakes for a few seconds.
It can be a really neat effect. You just have to be careful setting one up. If you hold a beer mug right in front of the nozzle you get an instant frosted mug. Unfortunatly, it does the same thing to your hand.
Everyone keep that in mind if you choose to play around with liquid nitrogen. That air blast coming right from the source is about -300 below F.

Dann hatte ich also DOCH recht mit meiner Vermutung dass es flüssiger Stickstoff ist den die da rausblasen :toothless Konnte mir das nur nicht so richtig vorstellen.. Weiß ja was das Zeug anrichten kann :rolleyes: |
